A Little of This and a Little of That

I have not deserted my blog. I'm only trying to get to things as I can. We just got back from Disney, and had such a good time! We went with some friends of ours, and even got a babysitter (Disney's service) for the kiddies on Sat. night! What a treat! We hit Downtown Disney, Wolfgang Puck (big yum), and a little of Pleasure Island. Can't wait to go back! Our little ones had a TON of fun, too!

Nursing License renewal stuff is all done and taken care of! A relief off my mind! Good for 2 more years! Not that I'm using it now, anyways, but it's good to have in my back pocket - just in case.

The back lanai that my hubbie is building is almost done! Yeah! It looks so good - can't wait to use it!

Hubbie's birthday is Thursday. Says he wants a "steering column for his boat". How boring is THAT to shop for??? Oh well. I guess he just made it easy on me!

I'm thinking of discontinuing the Cards of the Week. For some reason, they seem to be more work for me than other cards that I make. I think because I created a weekly deadline for myself - I don't want to do it??? Please let me know if you'd like me to continue them by leaving a comment. If enough people would like to see them continue, then I'll keep 'em up, but if not, I'll just keep making the multi vendor cards that I love so much!

I'm a finalist in a card contest over at Serendipity Kits. There are 4 of my cards there that you might recognize. This card seems to be the fav. Make sure that you check it out here and vote! :) Make sure that you don't click the "vote" button before you click on the bubble beside the card! I did that...didn't turn out so well. :(

Did you see that the SU! Retire List is up on the website??? All I can say is, Kirsten's a-havin' a sale! I have 30 something sets that are retiring, and I'm not in love with enough to keep. (And 3 wheels.) Gotsta make room for more stamps! KWIM???

Well, I think that that's the gist of my updates. I've got a swap card to post in a bit, and I will eventually get to some stamping, although Naptime doesn't look good, since I now have an almost three year old rummaging through my cupboards. I checked on him, and he was busily dumping all of his raisins in a gallon-size Ziplock bag, hiding behind the trifold door. Aah...good times.

Hopefully I will be stamping soon! Hope to hear from ya soon!

  1. If you don't enjoy doing the cards of the week as much as the others, that really answers your question hon. This is all supposed to be about enjoying yourself: don't force yourself to do something as you will never be 100% happy with the result. x

  4. Creating the cards and putting them on the blog is for your enjoyment as much as others. If it becomes a chore, you will not enjoy it anymore, thus defeating the purpose. So, if you don't like it, do what you do like --- you will be more creative and probably more productive.
Now, on a personal (and selfish) note, I do like them, however I must say that I often do not have the sets you use anyway and have to use it as a sketch idea rather than an idea to use with that set. I just really enjoy your style, so I guess it really does not matter whose products you are using, the cards will be inspiring either way.

  5. Hey -- that last comment from "Jeff" is really from "Heather" --- I pressed the wrong buttons! Ugh! Just wanted you to know that it is someone who has been reading your blog for a while, not just some random person! :)

  6. ugg. I feel like the worst friend ever. I didn't know you had any of that license renewal stuff going on - nor did I know Dave's birthday was Thurs! I know this has nothing to do with the comments you requested (on your weekly cards) but wanted you to know I'm sorry for not being more attentive . . ..

  7. I do agree with the others about enjoying what you do. But, as your friend, I feel i can be COMPLETELY honest and say,"Waaaaaaaa, I love the card of the week! you can't stop! After all, it's not about you, it's about me!" LOL! Ilove ya kid!

  8. I just had time to check out the retire list -- OMG!! It is like the entire book will be new. I am not a demonstrator, so it is not as critical to have current sets (other than it is fun!) but I will have only FOUR current sets in the new catalog!! And, I just bought Living Large, which I think is so cute, and it is retiring too. I hope this means that there will be some way cute stuff in the new cattie.
