Some Women Complain about PMS...

This is another one of those Elzybells images that I found tucked away, all colored and matching this Urban Prairie PP, so I thought that I'd use it on a card! I also thought that she would go well with this sentiment that I picked up at StampFest, from Repeat Impressions. I love it - it makes me giggle! LOL

I used PTI's Polka Dot Basics for the bkgd, cut the main layers out with Nesties, and finished it off with American Crafts ribbon. The image was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

Now I'm off because I have a little guy that is getting quite bored with my being on the computer! Till later!

Featured Stamper - SpeedyStamper

Man, I'm on a role with these challenges! This one is a Featured Stamper Challenge, and this week's lucky girl is SpeedyStamper. My card is based off of this one that I found in her gallery. It's a loose interpretation of it, but the main image and ribbon are in the same place. :) I had to use some more of my Urban Prairie PP, and I just happened to find this little Elzybells image that I had colored forever ago, and it matched perfectly!! I love when that happens! LOL

This picture got a little washed out somehow, but the ink for the sentiment is PTI's new color Ocean Tides (love this color!). The sentiment is from LAD's new set, Circle Sentiments. Ribbon is PTI, and button and PP is Basic Gray. The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

Now I have to run. Lots to do before Wyatt wakes up from his nappie! :)

Friends Forever

You have to click on the pic to get a good look at this one. The flowers (PTI's Beautiful Blooms) on the bkgd are so much prettier IRL. The centers of them are "Stickled", as well. This is yet another one of the images that Jody sent me - MAN, I love that woman! (In a totally platonic way, of course...NOT that there's anything wrong with that...;)) Jody - expect some happy mail to be coming your way!

Anywho, I used one of my Versamagic Dew Drops for the flowers, because they show up so much better on black than any other ink that I have. I really like this color combo. I can't remember what inspired me with it, but I'm definitely going to have to use it again! Oh, and the sentiment came from Jody as well. They are both Elzybells.

Well, I'm off to get something done. We just got back from the beach, and I showered and put Wyatt to bed for a nap, so I'm feeling like getting a card or two (Two? Who am I kidding?!) done before the monkey wakes up! Have a great afternoon, and I'll be back with a sketch and card soon!

Envelope Cards and Other Stuff

Okay, so it's been like a MILLION years since I posted! Like I said before, I've been so crazed with design team stuff, company, Easter, pub stuff, etc, that I haven't had a second to do anything else! And to top it all off - I've got PINK EYE! Grr...

Anywho, this is a set of cards that I made a couple of weeks ago. I call them my "envelope cards". {Yes, I realize that my "stamp" (no pun intended) is in the wrong place, but I still think they're cute! LOL} They are SO super easy to make - I had to make three!

ETA: These cards had NOTHING to do with these adorable cards I just now saw on Michelle Wooderson's blog while doing some late night blog hopping! Go check them out, though, 'cause they're SUPER cute!!!

I used the Elzybells images that Jody sent me, and some A Muse sentiments. I started with the green one - I was inspired with the envie on the girl's table. I just cut a triangle to fit the top, and sponged the heck out of all the edges! Easy peasy!
Here are the pix of the other two cards. You can click on them to make them bigger.

Let me know if you decide to make one - or three :) - because I'd love to see them!

I also wanted to thank Kelly for nominating me for the You Make My Day award. Kelly - you're so very sweet, and I apologize for not thanking you sooner! Hugs!!! I added the label to the bottom of my sidebar, if you want to see it.

I also was tagged by a few people for the "7 things" tag that has been going around, and I'll get to that one too! Baby steps, know what I'm sayin'! LOL :)

Have a great day, and I'll be back soon with some more stuff for you to see!

Elzybell Mail!

Can I TELL you how I excited I was to open an envie I got in the mail the other day to find like THIRTEEN Elzybell images (some stamped a few times!), PLUS several different sentiments!?! OMGoodness!!!

My friend, Jody, sent me the best RAK ever!!! Totally unexpected and totally AWESOME!

I had to immediately make something with them! The above picture is a Easter candy bag (find the bag here) that I made with one of the RAK images and my PTI Beautiful Blooms stamps set. This sentiment is one that I just ordered from A Muse. I cut it like a flag, and adhered it with Mini Glue Dots. I think I got the idea from Julie's blog?

The bag is filled with Peanut M&Ms. Yum!

Ribbon is May Arts (from one of Jody's share) and I also (of course) used Copics and Spellbinders. Now for the card...

I am in LOVE with this image, and I can't believe that I didn't buy this one! (I did actually buy a few of my own, and amazingly, there were hardly any duplicates!) Anyways, I used Amy's sketch for this one. I like how it worked out with the clear/white Heidi Swapp flower.

As you can see, I also used my Swiss Dot CB folder and my Spellbinders, BUT I broke out the Prismacolor Pencils for this image! SHOCKER All paper is SU!, button is Creative Cafe, and ribbon is Making Memories.

Okay, so I think all of the deets is in the post, so I'll skip the "fine print". Have a great Sunday, and don't forget to "spring forward"! Hugs!

You Brighten My Days

Have I mentioned how completely in love with Elzybells I am??? I think that they are some of THE cutest images EVER! This is one that I liked on Lauren's blog a while back, before the recent Friendship release. It was a much larger version, because she had gotten it from the UK, but it was still cute. Well, when they released this image in the smaller version, from the NA division, I immediately plopped it in my "cart"! LOL I got several more, including a couple from today's release, too, so you'll be seeing lots more of them!!! (Assuming you keep coming back, but we won't talk about that! ;)

I paper pieced her dress and colored her with my Copics. The little flowers are embossed, though it's hard to see in the pic. The embossing and punching was done with two punches from EK.

Well, now I'm off to the park with some friends. I'll be back tomorrow with something new!

Still Dreaming

Okay, I know that I promised you a Lizzie Anne card today, but I made an executive decision, and posted this card, instead. :) This is another of the Elzybell cards that I made, post-Christmas, this year, in order to play with her! NOW, I've got some NEW designs that I'm dying to play with...along with, let's see, the new TCP Cowboys and Indians sets, PTI sets (from the LAST release!), AND gobs of DT stamps!!! I'm drowning in rubber (and acrylic :)), but I love it! ;)

Thanks to all of you who sent me well wishes! I'm feeling a little better, but could definitely be better than this! LOL I'm really hoping to be able to "create" today, as I've got TONS to do! Wish me luck!

White Christmas

Hello!!! I'm home after a very busy and fun trip to Ohio! I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to post while I was gone, so I left you with the (below post - make sure to check it out!) Naptime Nuggets. Thanks to those of you who have inquired as to my well-being, over the past few days! Feels good to be missed!!! :) I DID make it to a couple scrapbook stores, and picked up just a COUPLE of things. I HATED to not get some paper, but I didn't want it to wrinkle on the plane. SO, did I miss anything?!?

For this card, I stamped a little early Christmas card with one of my new Elzybells. (I have some new ones from the latest release, but I'll have to wait to get them inky!) This is a 4 1/4 square card. You'll have to take my word for it on this one that she's way cuter IRL. You can't see any of the shimmer from the pic!

Well, I'm off to watch some Curious George with my little guy. We're both sick (I'm SO never going back to Ohio in winter - we've lost our "hardiness"! LOL), so we're going to take it easy tonight.

Remember, comments close tonight at midnight EST (even if it allows you to make one), and I'll announce the winner tomorrow.

Kirsten

Elzybell Love

I wish that you all could see this card IRL, because it's much more shimmery and pretty than it is in this picture. I do believe that I'm going to find that these Elzybell girls are addictive. I SO love her!!! I've already placed my order for four more of them, from the new Friendship release. Problem is, I've probably got to wait till I get back from Ohio to get them all good and inky. (Ok, that sounded less weird in my head. But am I going to change it? No.) :)

Yes, we're going to be going out of town in a few days to visit friends and family in Columbus. Maybe I'll even get to hit the Archivers!!! Ooh, and there's an awesome quilt store (The Glass Thimble) there, too! I'm getting more excited by the minute!!! :) Anyone know of any good stamp stores up in those parts? I grew up there, but I wasn't into stamping then.

Anywho, back to the card. There is Clear Stardust pen on her wings, and Silver Stardust pen on the stars and halo. The silver paper is Bazzill Bling, so that's shimmery, too. The acrylic stars are from Heidi Swapp, and I outlined the edge of them with my purple Copic marker for some added "depth". It just makes them a bit LESS translucent. The sentiment is from Verve Visual's Starlight Starbright.

Well, I hope that you have a wonderful Monday. I'll be working for most of it, but I will get off at a decent time, so it's all good. See you tomorrow with a Lizzie Anne card.
