Friends Forever
This is the second and last (for now, at least) card from my page kit. I wasn't sure what sentiment I was going to put with the "u & i", but then I saw this one from the Faux Ribbon set (Papertrey Ink). I think it works pretty well! The flower is from another QuicKutz Revolution die, and the font is from the new alpha (Sophisticate - I think???). Both the sentiment and circles were stamped with White Stazon on a transparency. The corner PP treatment was simply created with 2 squares I folded in half diagonally. Hope you like it!
Well, we are leaving for TX on Sunday. We're driving there. That should be fun with an almost 3 year old boy. (Insert eye rolling here.) Well, it should be interesting anyways! :) I've made a few cards, and my thought is that I can take our laptop to post them on the road. I'm not sure that this will happen, but I will try.
In other news, we have a realtor meeting us today at our house. That means that we will be officially putting it on the market. Not sure how I feel about that. We would be moving somewhere in the same round-about area, but still... The keeping the house spotless every second, and packing, and setting up somewhere else (probably further away from all of my friends)... I just don't know. With the market the way it is right now, who knows how long it'll even take for it to sell. We'll have to wait and see what happens!
Well that's enough blither for now. I hope that you all have a super weekend!

Great card! Very striking!
ReplyDeleteSo bright - love the card and paper. Good luck with the house and have a safe trip.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS! Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteLike the colors on this card. I like how you did not fall into the "leaves need to be green" mode!
ReplyDeleteGood luck selling the house. I don't envy you to have to keep things clean. I see a lot of playing outside in your son's future!
Also - good luck on the car trip. We are heading to the beach in a few weeks with a 1 yr old and a 4 yr old --- would appreciate any car tips when you return! :) Have a safe trip.

This card is wonderful, just like the other one you made with these papers! Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this Kirsten! I really love your style. You do a great job at putting mutiple layers together yet they don't look busy at all.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the trip! My inlaws live about 6 hours away and we made the trip 3 weeks ago with our 2.8 year old and our 14 month old.
We borrowed a friends portable dvd player and that helped a lot in the last hour of the trip each way.
The other thing that I did for my daughter was I purchased a Leapfrog Leapster with one game. I'm very hesitant to let her play with electronic things (the computer, video games) etc. but it worked out great. I explained to her that it was only for special *long* car trips or when she's been a very good girl at home and has done something extra special. It was an $80 investment ($60 for the machine and $20 for the game) that really made the drive *both ways* pretty quiet. And she's only been allowed to use it a handful of times since the trip. I keep it in a special place that she can't reach! =)
Besides that, we had lots of snacks and small toys that kept everyone happy.
Anyway, sorry about rambling on. Have a great trip!! And thanks for always sharing your beautiful and funky works of art. They are a true source of inspiration!!!
=) Meredith
