Friends Always

So, I've been doing some shopping these past few days. We went to the Hobby Lobby today...and yesterday, and found a wonderful sale on some patterned paper. I got the big huge stack of MME Magnolia paper that I love so much, and a whole lot of my beloved AC paper. I was giddy! Also, they have such a better selection of stamps then they do in my local Michael's. I restrained myself, though, only buying one adorable House Mouse stamp. So cute - can't wait to use it!

Also, we went to an adorable quilt shop today, and I found myself wishing, once again, that there were several more of me, so that I could do everything that I love (ie., quilting, cards, and scrapbook...and take care of my beautiful child:)) all the time. I love making quilts. I am in the process of quilting an adorable quilt for Wyatt, and I can find no time to finish it. I'm ALSO in the process of appliqueing another quilt for myself (the first one that I made for ME). I ALSO (you getting the picture yet???) have fabric for at least 4 more projects. I ADORE fabric, and thread, and everything else associated with it. Can you see my dilemma??? I OBVIOUSLY adore everything paper related, also. Not a good combination for my bank account. I'm not sure why I told you all of that, except to maybe vent to a population of crafty people, and get any and all ideas for how to separate ones' self for more creative efficiency. Maybe I just need a schedule. Hmmm, must think about this when I'm not so sleepy.

Back to the card... This is a Tent Topper card style, originally designed by Michelle Wooderson (see link, Mish Mash, on sidebar - will try to add when I get back). Her design makes the cutest cards. I love the main image sticking up from the smaller square card. I used some more of my Imaginisce paper for the color inspiration. To match the green ink for the Oval to the PP, I had to stamp off first with my True Thyme ink pad, and then Rock and Roll the Thyme again for some dimension. I created the scallop strip with my Slit Punch, and detailed it with my White Gel Pen. I hope that you like it. :)

Tomorrow is my brother-in-law's graduation, and it looks like all of us girls are going to be getting pedies, so I think it's going to be another good day! Hope you all had a wonderful Hump Day!

xox,
kirsten

  1. Yeah I get to be the first to tell you how cite your card is, and to also let you know I suffer from all the same dilemas. I doubt that makes it easier to deal with but maybe just a hair more tolerable. have fun getting your Pedicure.

  2. Oh, you have given me a great idea. That little tabby thing on the focal point is too cute and such a fab idea, the sentiment from Faux Ribbon is the perfect size.

  4. Very cute! Yes -- Hobby Lobby is a wonderful place -- far better selection than Michael's and they have far better sales.

I know what you mean ablut not having enough of you -- or time to do all the wonderful things you want. I quilt too and I have an unfinished one in a box under my sofa. I keep thinking one day... and then there are the books I want to read, the scrapbooking that needs to be done, the new stamp sets that have yet to be tried, the sweater I need to finish knitting, and then the housework and by the way, both kids are now up and time to switch to mommy mode! Mind you, I am not complaining, but it is so difficult to balance when you have many creative interests. Ok, that is my rant!

Enjoy your pedi -- I am getting one in a couple of weeks for my vacations -- yippee!
