Happy Day!!!
Did you see Nichole's post today??? OMGoodness! Two Honorable Mentions!!! I was SO bouncin' this morning when I got Nichole's email! I just LOVED this Blackboard Egg Box project (I'll show you more on the Peep Box later in the week!)! I had SO MUCH fun with it!
I was lying on the couch trying to figure out how I can make this a fun and interactive gift for my little guy with the egg shaped chalk (that I found at Walmart), when I had a light bulb moment, shot straight up, and told Wyatt we had to get to Home Depot! Mama needed some Blackboard paint! LOL :) I spray painted the whole box with it, but I wanted to pretty it up a bit, so I made this removeable "cozy" with several PTI stamp sets, and added the (could be) removeable topper to the lid. I tried to use the chalk colors for the color inspiration, and I wanted to make the sleeve look a bit "outdoorsy", so I used Green Thumb, Spiral Bouquet, Limitless Labels, and Little Lady, along with Butterfly Kisses and Just Hatched.
For colors, I used SU!'s Cameo, Ruby, and Blush, Papertrey's Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, Palette Noir, and Versamagic Purple Hydrangea. I also used my Spellbinders dies, Robin's Nest Dew Drops, MSL ribbon, and Bazzill Brads.
This is adorable! I love it! TFS :) ...congrats on your honorable mention! :)
ReplyDeleteWay to go! But, I think you forgot the part where you called your friend, Mimi, for a little advice. LOL! XO, Mimi
ReplyDeleteUm, Mimi, I asked you where to GET the paint. That HARDLY counts for design advice! Nice try!!! LOL ;)

ReplyDeleteWhat a super great and adorable idea! I love how you prettied it up but made it fun and functional, too. Congrats on your two honorable mentions!
ReplyDeleteI'll be making several of these. I came up with a few ideas though. I found dino egg chalk (somewhere) and I'm going to do a dino box for one of my nephews. I also came across a blog that gives a tutorial on making your own egg chalk with plaster of paris and plastic eggs. I'm going to post that on my blog tomorrow after we make some.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea with the egg chalk. SO, I am going to do that for my girls. Now, where did you get your chalk? I bought some Crayola chalk that I found at Wal-Mart. I didn't find the kind that you had used and I actually like yours better.
ReplyDeleteTake care and have a great day!
