Emboss Resist!

This is for all of you technique junkies that have been waiting for me to post something technique related! LOL I'm not usually a technique person, but this was fun! This is also one of the cards from my Stamp-a-Stack that I did last night. Boy, am I exhausted! :)

Sorry for my lack of posts this week. I've been crazed, like I knew (and posted) that I would be! I should be doing several other things right now, actually! LOL BUT, I figured I'd try and give you something else to look at, AND let you know I'm still ALIVE!!! :)

This is actually the first time that I tried this technique. I simply embossed the image from Garden Whimsy with Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder, and then sponged the color on. I used my Daubers, and started ON the image and worked out for a nice gradation effect. Then you just wipe the color off of the embossed areas with a paper towel. Easy Peasy. I think it turned out quite pretty.

I also did some "faux dry embossing" on the Saffron layer with my 1/4 circle hole punch. I love that tiny Olive twill ribbon that I got from the last ribbon. Feels so nice. All stamps are Stampin' Up!.

Well, that's about it! It's my Hubby's birthday today, and we're talking about checking out a sandcastle competition at Siesta Key beach! There should be plenty of sandy eye candy there!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I'll be back "soon"! :)

xox,
