All Things Grow with Love

Good morning, Sunshines! :) I'm feeling accomplished by my day of slaving away yesterday, and thought that I'd take a minute to post a card for you! This is a 4 1/4 square card that I did for my AAS DT. I really like the simplicity of this card. I also really like this Lillies (Marsha McCarthy) image stamped in the white chalk ink on the craft!

All paper and ribbon is PTI and the button is SU!. I'm really loving the PTI Craft! It's got such a nice weight and smoothness to it! The sentiment is also from PTI's Garden of Life set.

Still having computer issues. The problem is this - we don't know what the problem is! Dave thinks it COULD be fixed if we buy some $150 part, but maybe not. If that's not it, then the issue is with the motherboard, and then all of our info stored on the computer (no, I didn't back much up) is lost! Big nightmare.

And now I'm off to feed the child! Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll catch ya later! :)

Need Chocolate?

I know I do! I'm up to my eyeballs in cleaning, projects, errands, etc... We're getting some family in tomorrow (my brother and his fam), and I'm trying to get the house up to snuff, get groceries, complete stamping commitments, take care of the little monkey, etc...

I did get some photos taken of some projects that I've recently completed! Believe it or not, I've got lots to show you - several AAS projects and MFTeasers, though the MFT stuff can't be shown till Monday. Stay tuned for all of that! There is some pretty awesome stuff coming out soon!

Anywho, this is a project that's pictures doesn't do it justice at all. It's a little clear 2x2x7 box that I created for these yummy Starbucks chocolates. It holds 4 of them, and makes a cute little "just thinking about you" gift.

I took a close-up to try and show you the ribbon that I stamped with PTI's Lavender Moon and LAD's In the Background swirl stamp. It's quite pretty IRL. The tag stamp is from LAD's Petite Phrases. If you can't tell (which you prolly can't) I stamped the ACTUAL chocolate wrapper (because you KNOW I had to eat a few, and had wrappers in my trash can! LOL) with Palette Burnt Umber ink, and cut out the wrapper image from it to paper piece it on the tag. Nice and shiny IRL. Well, that's about it! I'll back real soon with an AAS project. Now I'm off to mail off an ATC swap! Cya soon! :)

You Take the Cake

Okay, be kind with me. I'm like a fish out of water trying to upload/edit pix with a different computer and software. My REAL computer is still broke, and it's TOTALLY throwing me off my game! LOL I don't even have any of my watermarks! Aaah!

Anyways, this is a Lizzie Anne card using the set, Petite Phrases. It's a great multifunctional set, and the images are just too cute! I used my Crate Paper Blue Hill collection, and some PTI paper. There is some clear Spica pen on the "icing", though I doubt you can see it with the pic.

Welp, that's about it! Have a good Hump Day! I should be back tomorrow with another LAD project. Till then....

We're Back, But...

I've still nothing to show you. Computer is still not working, and I've not time to stamp! I'm hoping to get some stuff done ASAP, though, as I've lots of impending deadlines! Thanks for hanging in with me though this ultra sloooooooooooow time! LOL

We had a great time at Disney! We went to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and a little Epcot. We did two character dinners - one with the Disney princesses and one with Pooh and friends. We also fit in some Downtown Disney and the coolio dragon pool! What a jam-packed, but super fun trip with some good friends!

Hope you're having a wonderful Memorial Day! Now to get back to the unwinding! :)

The Blogging Gods are Against Me

Sooo, I went yesterday to post that other April Cards Card that I mentioned the day before, and my computer was caput! Turns out that it's my monitor that's broke, so until I get that fixed/get a new one, I can't upload the pix that are on that computer! Ack!!! Sorry for my blogging lameness this week!

In other news, for all that care, as of last night, I'm now on an antibiotic, so I'm starting to feel a bit better. That nasty bug hit my respiratory system on Monday, and yesterday I could feel it moving into my chest, so I finally broke down and called the Dr. Evidently I really needed it, because I already notice a world of difference! :)

So, I'll be back as soon as I have something I can show you. Have a great one!

April Cards (Part 1)

Okay, sorry for drawing this out, but I still don't have anything new that I'm able to show you yet, so I'll post the other card that I didn't already publish tomorrow. :)

This is a Lizzie Anne card, made with their Gettin' Hitched stamp set. This one is an awesome one for weddings - I love all of the images!!! Too cute!

Anyways, the bkgd is Bazzill Bling that I Cuttlebugged with the D'Vine Swirls folder. Ribbon is AC. Cord and rhinestone brads are SU!, but the large black brad is Bazzill. Images were colored with Copics and detailed with a Silver Stardust pen. Flowers are Prima. This is a 5 1/4 square card.

Well, I'm off to try to get some stuff done! Have a great afternoon!

I'm Still Alive!

So sorry for the infrequent posts lately, but life happens! Nothing major - just illness, busyness, and laziness! I'm still not feeling well. Now it seems that it's moving into a respiratory thing, but I'll get over it...I hope!

Anywho, I don't have anything to show you at the moment, but I'll be back soon with some eye candy! I'm working on some DT stuff that I can't show you, but I know that I have at least a couple pubbed cards that I can now share. I just have to figure out which ones those are! LOL It's hard to remember which ones I've posted and which ones I haven't. :)

In other news, over the weekend our family grew by two! We are now the proud owners of two female Black Bear Hamsters! :) I know that not everyone is a fan of "rodents", but they are so sweet and cute to us! Maybe I'll post a pic soon...

Also, we're getting ready and excited for another trip to Disney this weekend! We're going with good friends this time, and staying at a coolio resort, so I know that it'll be super fun. (It's Wyatt's Sophie's family. :)) Anyone else have Memorial Day plans they want to share?

Well, that's about it. Summer's coming and that's always full of extra visitors down here and more plans, but it's all exciting! Wyatt's 4th birthday is coming up in a couple of months, as is CHA, StampFest, etc..., so there's tons to be done! Right now I'm up to my eyeballs in DT stuff, ATCs, and commissioned card sets which I'll show when I've got them done. So if you don't hear from me as regular as usual, I'll be back as soon as I can catch my breath! :)

Going Places

Thank you for the well wishes! I do feel a bit better tonight. :)

This card was made for the MFTSC30 weekly sketch challenge, courtesy of Cindy Haffner. The paper is SEI's Dill Blossom, and I had so much fun coloring with those colors! Stamps are from one of MFT's newest releases, Goin' Places. Ribbon is PTI, and button is Creative Cafe.

Well, that's about it! I guess this one is going to be a quickie post, too! I'm tired, and I need to get off to bed. Have a good night!

I Soda Like You

This is going to be a quick post as I'm feeling pretty crummy right now. I've got a fever and I'm achy all over. Anywho...

This is a 5 1/4 square card that I made with my LAD set, Petite Phrases. The whipped cream was made dimensional with Liquid Applique. The cherry is an A Muse rhinestone. PP and ribbon are from SU!.

I'll be back soon with my MFT sketch challenge card. Have a good one!

I'm Back!

So with all of the Mother's Day fun this weekend, I thought that I'd take a little Blog Siesta. I need those from time to time. I have been doing some stamping, though, so I've got lots to share. I'll start with this PTI card.

I had a lot of fun with my Pond Life set. There's so many possibilities for that set, and just too little time! For this card, I focused on the fish and fishing.

I used the cattail stem for the rod and some linen thread for the string. The hook came from a paper clip that I trimmed down. My favorite part of this card is the way that the fish "comes out" of the water.

I cut a slit in the "ripple" with my craft knife and slipped the prestamped and cut out fish in it, masked, and stamped the tail that is still "under" the water. It's a little dimensional, too - you can see the shadow.

The tiny caterpillar is from the "hand stamped" stamp. Such cute stamps in this set! I love the little "splash"!

The sentiment is cut and embossed with my Nesties, and the "water" was cut with my scallop scissors.

Well, that's about it for this card!

Thanks to everyone who commented on the "present card"! I've gotten some requests for a tutorial, so I'm planning one of those in the not too distant future. Just need to decide which stamp I'll use for the inside!

Now I'm off! Have a great day, and I'll be back soon!

Glitter Wings

This is another image from American Art Stamp (AAS), specifically an image from Adriana Cirstea - Angel with Child. Can you see the sparkle in their wings? They're covered with MSL silver glitter, hence the post's title. :)

From now on, just assume that if it's a colored image, that I used Copic Markers. I'll let you know if I used something different! LOL

OMGoodness, I just got my extra Sketches in and filled out my blank Copic Color Chart that I found on Sharon Harnist's blog, and let me tell you that that has made coloring so much more enjoyable!!! No more scribbling colors onto scrap pieces of paper to see if they match! It also makes finding the right blending colors SO much easier. I also can't believe that I didn't have my markers in numerical order for so long! Now I feel so much more organized with them. If you use Copics, I seriously suggest you print out the chart!

Anywho, back to the card. My color combo came from a page in my latest Pottery Barn magazine. The flower is one of those bridal flowers from Michaels'. I colored that with Copics, too. Ribbon is from AC, and the sentiment is from PTI's Little Lady.

Welp, dinner's almost ready, so I'll have to catch up more with you later!

Much Appreciated

This is my first American Art Stamp card. It features Adriana Cirstea's Angel with Flowers. Isn't she (this stamp, not my coloring) just beautiful?!?

I couldn't decide on a pic, because the one above has more accurate colors, but in the one below you can see all of the shimmer, SO I just posted both! :)

You can find more out about this card on the AAS blog HERE.
Also, don't forget that the new MFT stamps are now available on the website, so click on over there to check them out!

Till later...

MFTeaser: Gone to the Dogs and Goin' Places

This post is going to be quick because it's going to be a busy day! I did want to show you this 5 1/4 card that I made last night. It features stamps from two of the new upcoming sets, Gone to the Dogs (dog and girl) and Goin' Places (city scape). These, along with Friends Furever, will be released tonight, so make sure you pencil in some time to spend at the release party!

Here's all of the deets...
My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, May 7 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. Lots of fun is planned including finding out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. Head over to the MFT forum on www.splitcoaststampers.com to find out all the details and we hope to see you there on Wednesday night.

Hope to see you all there! Now I'm off and running! Oh, and if you're wondering, the purse is from MFT's Say Charge. :)

Sophie Girl

After I saw this stamp set from Pink Cat Studio (Dress Up Lily) and found out that it can be personalized, I knew that I had to do that for a gift. This is a beginner card kit for a sweet little girl, named Sophie. She just turned 4, and also happens to be Wyatt's "girlfriend" - sorry Am, but face the facts! :)

Anyways, I ordered the set, grabbed up some card making "necessaries" here and there, and came up with this gift. I added PP and ribbon to all of the items to make it all coordinate. I was going to make a cute little "purse bag" to put it all in too, but ran out of time. Instead I picked up a nice glassine bag at Target and tied some ribbon on. I took a pic of it, but this post has enough pix, so I figured it would be easy enough for you to visualize, and left it off! LOL
This is her "present" card. I wanted to do something interactive, so I made it into a pocket. When you pull off the lid, the message and "Sophie" pop out of the box to say surprise (well, actually she says "have a splendiferous day", but you get the drift...)!!! The "lid" actually slides down over the top of the "present".
The sentiment is from A Muse and the "Sophie" was done with PTI's Simple Alphabet. All ribbon and PP is from SEI's Chick-a-Dee line. There's also A Muse Twinkle Stickers on the little tag as flower centers.

Welp, that's about it! Come back soon for another MFTeaser and an AAS project! Till then...

MFTeaser: Friends Furever

Here I am back with another card for today. This is the MFTeaser that I promised you this morning! This set is the MFT Mini for this month, and it's called Friends Furever. It's so stinking adorable, and I love it because it reminds me of my little guy and our big Lab.

I used the same sketch that I posted this morning for this card, but I added a couple more embellies to it! The button is from Creative Cafe and the fire hydrant is from Queen and Co. PP and ribbon is from SU!

I got my Copics today!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMWord, I'm SO excited about that! Now I've got all of the Ciaos, and I've already ordered a few Sketch to fill in some gaps. LOL I'm a Copic junkie, what can I say! It IS going to take me a bit to get used to all of the new colors. I printed off the Color Chart so it'll make it easier for me to see which one is which!

Well, I gotsta go get dinner ready! Have a good one, and hopefully, after my stamp room is all REorganized from this weekend, I'll be able to sit down and stamp tonight! Till next time...

Make a Wish and a Sketch!

It's been a while since I posted a sketch, so I thought that I would give you one today to start off your week! This one was inspired by a card in the SU! catty.
This is another SU! S-A-S card, but I hope to be back later today with a MFTeaser! Oh, are you going to love those sets!!!
I used my Jersey Shore PP for the strip, and Big Bold Birthday for the image and sentiment. There is some glitter glue on the icing, and the icing is popped up on Dimensionals. This is a quick and easy peasy sketch that I hope that you'll try. If you do, remember to link it back here, and you can put "ked7" in the keyword section if you upload it to SCS.
Now, I'm off to a playdate! Have a great one and check back here soon! :)

Emboss Resist!

This is for all of you technique junkies that have been waiting for me to post something technique related! LOL I'm not usually a technique person, but this was fun! This is also one of the cards from my Stamp-a-Stack that I did last night. Boy, am I exhausted! :)

Sorry for my lack of posts this week. I've been crazed, like I knew (and posted) that I would be! I should be doing several other things right now, actually! LOL BUT, I figured I'd try and give you something else to look at, AND let you know I'm still ALIVE!!! :)

This is actually the first time that I tried this technique. I simply embossed the image from Garden Whimsy with Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder, and then sponged the color on. I used my Daubers, and started ON the image and worked out for a nice gradation effect. Then you just wipe the color off of the embossed areas with a paper towel. Easy Peasy. I think it turned out quite pretty.

I also did some "faux dry embossing" on the Saffron layer with my 1/4 circle hole punch. I love that tiny Olive twill ribbon that I got from the last ribbon. Feels so nice. All stamps are Stampin' Up!.

Well, that's about it! It's my Hubby's birthday today, and we're talking about checking out a sandcastle competition at Siesta Key beach! There should be plenty of sandy eye candy there!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I'll be back "soon"! :)
