Rainy Days!!!!!

This, admittedly, is a bad picture, due to it being the wrong time of day for me to take it, but I'll try and take another one in a couple of hours! I wanted to post it now, though, since today is the release day for the new Hanna Stamps set, Rainy Days. (<-- CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT!!!)

This is a 4 1/4 square card (I've been making tons of those lately!) from which I've cut out a window with my Spellbinders dies to reveal the ducky on the inside. This is one of the things that I LOVE about the Spellbinders - you can cut a shape ANYWHERE (provided it fits in your Cuttlebug/Big Shot/etc...)! You just can't do that with a punch!

I also cut out the duck/umbrella image from another piece of paper (because, like yesterday's card, I didn't like the rest of the image I was creating with it! LOL) and mounted it on Dimensionals. This is nice, though, because when the card's totally closed, the main image sticks up past the front of the card, and creates it's own shadow! I masked the duck's wing and then stamped the umbrella.

The image is colored with Copics. The ribbon is May Arts. The sentiment is stamped with White Craft, and all paper is Stampin' Up (Pumpkin, Bayou, and WW).

Not sure what I'll have next for you, but I'm thinking that it'll be a Lizzie Anne. See you then, and have a great weekend!

  1. This is great Kirsten - Love those colors! You're right, the duck and umbrella popped up makes the cutest shadow. Isn't that the way - sometimes our mistakes or do-overs turn into something even better than we'd originally intended.

    Enjoy your weekend! :)

  2. This is so adorable! I love the whole composition!!

  3. I just enjoy your work so much! The colors and images you choose are just delightful! Keep up the great work!

  4. A-dorable! Can't wait for my set to come.

  5. That's such a cute card. Love the little duck.

  6. What a cute project! You did good with your Spellbinders. I love anything on dimensionals and it's an especially nice effect when it's in a window like this. Love it!

So what do you think?
