My New Little Piece of Heaven

Welcome to my little corner of the Earth! This (<-- Click link) is what my stamp room looked like before last week. Some improvement, huh!?

The new island is my Christmas gift from my Hubby, and I'm in LOVE with it! We got the over sized butcher block, so that I can sit at it, and I love all of the work space! And the drawers! A stamper's heaven, I tell ya! :)

This is an existing bookcase that holds mostly SU stamps, plus stamps in CD cases, 8x8 and 6x6 PP packs, scrapbooks, and some odds and ends. The white boxes are ones that I painted from Michaels. They fit the CDs perfectly! I got that idea from my friend, Mimi.

This is a shot of the counter top behind my island. The candy jars are full of ribbon and Primas. And my dad asked me what in the world I was going to do with all of that ribbon! Ha! I scoff! Silly man.
Ah, I LOVE these bars from Ikea. No it's not a novel idea, but the drawer that these puppies were previously stored in was BEGGING us to put these up on the wall! LOL It was SO broke and U-shaped that it was pitiful.

Now, this little beauty is something that my Hubster built for me and my grown-up candy. I love it, and it holds so much ribbon - and there's even room for MORE! LOL

Now, this pic is not to show off the beauty of this set-up, but to show how I've got my paper/PP stored. It's purely functional, but it does a nice job. That box on the top is my other Christmas gift. It's a kareoke machine that's also a iPod charger, docking station, player, CD player, and radio. Love it too! :)

And finally, here's my throne. These 24in. chairs were also from Ikea. This is what this space pretty much always looks like - my iPod within easy reach, along with my Copics, acrylic blocks, sketch book, water, and tool caddy - or as I call them, my Necessaries. :) The quilt on the wall is a fish quilt that I made for Dave. I'll replace it with the one that I'm making now, when it's finished.
Well, that's about it. Hopefully you enjoyed the tour. Tonight I had Mimi over, and actually made a card! That is a big deal, if you knew of the day that I had...
Here's the gist - I bit the bullet and went to the Dr and had an x-ray on my toe. Good thing, too, cause it was far too injured to have healed with just taping it to the other toes! I have a spiral oblique break that was twisted and was nowhere near in correct alignment. It had to be set - which was an experience that I don't want to repeat anytime soon, and now I have to wear a gigantic knee-length boot for the next four weeks so that I can avoid having surgery on the stupid toe!!! And I won't even mention the bill... All for kicking a wall! Good grief, Charlie Brown!
So, anyways, I hope that your day was better than mine. Now I'm off to snuggle my Christmas Elf. Nighty night!

I KNEW That Cleaning Was Hazardous to My Health!

Wow, I can't believe that it's been like a million years since my last post! Well, probably more like 2 weeks, but STILL! It's just one of those times of the year when it's all that I can do to get all of my Christmas stamping, baking, wrapping, and buying done in time for all of the festivities. Then comes the Christmas "hangover"! We STILL have toys all over the house and cookies all over the kitchen, how about you?

In addition to all of that, my wonderful husband remodeled my stamp room, and reorganized all of my stuff. So, I'm sure that you can imagine that it then required a lot of REreorganization from me, but I was happy to do it, because it was a much needed chore. Now, I have an uber cool room that I will share pix of later. I really love stamping in it, HOWEVER...

On Sunday evening, I thought it would be a good idea to clean up the master bathroom while Wyatt was in the tub. Well, I was trying to hurry and talk to him at the same time, and saw something on the floor that needed picking up. I ended up kicking the corner of the wall (obviously really hard) and broke my toe. I won't describe it to you, because it's pretty gross, but suffice it to say that it was VERY clear to us that it was broken.

Now, I'm utterly BORED because I have to sit or lie down with my foot up all day, and CAN'T PLAY IN MY NEW ROOM! GRRR! Thank goodness that Dave is off this week, because he's a huge help. You know, it's a little difficult to move my computer from place to place while hopping around on crutches and a surgical shoe. LOL

Anyways, I have some things to share, and I will soon, but I wanted to drop in first and tell you what's going on! Our Christmas was wonderful - Wyatt was thrilled, and everything was perfect. How about you all? I hope that it was magical for everyone!

New BCDzyns: Daydreamer

Okay, so Sunday turned into Wednesday! It's such a busy time of year, and my to-do list is long. I'm sure I'm not alone in that!

This new set is Daydreamer, and it is new from BCDzyns (available from MFT). She comes with loads of sentiments, and even a thought bubble, too! You can grab her up at the above link.

I've colored her with Copics and paper pieced her shirt. The PP is from Basic Grey's Eva, as is the buttons. The ribbon is from PTI.

A close up...And I'm leaving you with that! I hope that you love her! Till later when I have time to edit a bunch of pix, so that I can post them... :)

Saturday Sketch To Be Delayed :(

I can't tell you how crazed I've been this week gearing up for my party tomorrow night. So, because of that, I haven't had time to stamp anything that wasn't party related. I have some pix that I will share very soon, but my sketch sample will have to be made and posted after this weekend. It's just that time of year, kwim!?

So, have a great weekend, and hopefully I'll have some fun stuff to show you on Sunday!

"...I've got to go home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there..."

This is my card for last weeks MFTSC. I used one of my favorite oldies but goodies from MFT, Baby It's Cold Outside. I used some PP from Scenic Route, Copics, Twinkle Stickers, Scallop Scissors, chunky snow, and MSL ribbon. Detail pic...

So I just "elfed myself", and I'm LOL-ing at the three of us in our little disco video! Too funny. I've gotten several of these in the past couple of years, but I've not seen the disco version. Cute! I tried to post it here, but the video didn't work after I changed the title of the post. Goes to show me not to mess with a good thing! LOL

ETA: Try this link to see our video.

And now I'm off to get things done. Have a good one!

Make a Wish!

This is my SSC make-up card from a couple of weeks ago! LOL I wanted to play with one of my newer sets of AAS, and I thought that it would perfect with this sketch. To see Lauren's post, click here.

I used some Eva paper from BG, rub-ons and brads from SU!, Copics, and ribbon from PTI.

I'm going to keep this post short, but stop by tomorrow, and I'll have an MFT card for you! Till later!

Sketch Challenge Cards

These are both cards that I made last week, for the SC on SCC. The first one uses the LAD set, Ooo La La and LAD's new PP. I colored the image with Copics and used SU!'s ribbon. Buttons are from Basic Grey and Moxie. This one was made with a cutie TCP image that I had fun gussying up! I used a tiny pom-pom on his had, Stickles on the fire, and chunky snow on the ground.
For the marshmallow, I used Liquid Applique, heat set, and then dabbed it with some shimmery brown chalk so it looks toasted. That's my favorite part! :)

So, I went to the cookie party that I mentioned yesterday, walked in the door, and someone yells "she looks just like her picture!"! I was like "huh?". And then I realized that I was meeting a stamper! A sweet lady, named Angela, who reads my blog! HI ANGELA! :) How fun! I love meeting "online people" IRL! LOL

We had a great time eating too many cookies, making ornaments with glitter and glue, and decorating our cook books. Oh, and I won like three prizes! Love when THAT happens, too! LOL Thanks Sherree! Had a great time! :)

Well, that's about it for today. Hope you all have a wonderful week!

For a Gracious Hostess

I tried Lauren's My Timeless Templates for the first time, and I'm so glad that I did! Since I had so much fun with this free one, I went ahead and purchased two more! I can't wait to play with them for some of my Christmas gifties - and I need to be working on them, like NOW! LOL

For this Stocking Stuffer, though, I used some AC paper and Real Red cardstock. The white "ribbon" is an idea that I got from Melissa Phillips. I just Cuttlebugged the red pieces, added some faux stitching, AC ribbon, and a little Cuttlebug tag with a PTI sentiment from Mixed Messages. I used my markers to ink it up in the different colors.I also had to make a little card to go with it, using another aDORable TCP image, colored with Copics. The sketch is one of Beate's more recent ones. I needed something quick and cute, and I think it did the trick! The cardstock is Glorious Green - my least favorite color in every month BUT December! :)

There is a tiny piece of thread on that penguin on the right - bugs me, but I'm not retaking the pic! LOL I filled the stocking with these little "present" chocolates. I'm heading out to a cookie party tonight, and I hope that Sherree likes her little giftie!

Come back tomorrow, because I'll have something for ya! Till later...

SCS Time - Finally!

Okay, so I'm a bit behind on my SSCs, but I've got a bunch of things made and waiting to be posted, including my missing SSCs from the past two weeks! I love Lauren's sketches, and look forward to them, but as you know, time has to permit. Well, I've been getting quite stampy lately, and so I'm excited to show you what all I've been doing. Baby steps, though. ;)

For today, I have a card with an ADORABLE The Cat's Pajamas image (the sentiment is from TCP's Deck the Hall) for this week's SSC. You can find Lauren's card, as well as her sketch right HERE.

I used some AC PP for my color inspiration. The rubber circle is from Doodlebug. The image is colored with Copic markers. I also used some chunky "snow flakes" for some sparkle.Image close-up. I just can't get enough of these penguins...you'll see! :)

Well, that's it for now. I'm still up to my elbows in Christmas projects. I'll show them all here as I get them done and I have time. I know my posting is not as regular as in the past, but I'm doing the best that I can in this busy season. I know you all KWIM! LOL

If YOUR time permits, don't forget to check out these other sketchy girls for their interpretation of the sketch...

MFTeaser: Snow Bunny Flopsey

Welcome to the MFT Release Day Blog Hop! If you want to hit the Hop from the beginning, then start HERE. You won't want to miss anything!

This is Snow Bunny Flopsey! Ain't she cute!? I just love these images! You just can't go wrong with a cute bunny! LOL

I used my Snowy Joe PP, from Imaginisce, again. I just love the colors in this paper - not the usual red and green, and I like that! Here's a close-up of the main image...I also love making their bellies furry! I fun-flocked it, after I colored it, so it still kept some of the pink color. She's colored with Copics.

I had to add my MSL snowflake punch and some BG buttons, too! It just doesn't seem to be a Christmas card without it! LOL The ribbon is from PTI.

Well, don't think you're done yet! You're next stop is my friend, Shannon! You can find here HERE!

And now I'm off! Later gator!

MFTeaser: Tote-ally Fantastic

Meet this month's MFT Who's That Girl set, Tote-ally Fantastic! I love this image, especially the teeny tiny dog! Plus, in true MFT style, there's a bunch of super cute sentiments to go with the set, too!

I used my new Eva paper, from Basic Grey, and I'm IN LOVE with another PP line! LOL The colors are so pretty! I did a make-and-take at CHA with this PP, and knew I HAD to have it. Now I finally do, and will be hard pressed to use any other company's PP for a while! Well, unless I need Christmas PP! :)

I also used a BG button and SU! ribbon. The sketch is Jen's SFYTT from two weeks ago. You can find it here.

Here's the deets for the release, there's some changes from the usual format...

My Favorite Things will be hosting a New Release Cocktail Party in the SCS forum, on Wednesday night (December 3rd) 9-10pm EST EASTERN time. Wednesday morning will start with a blog hop full of teasers and of course a pot of photopolymer gold at the end!

Then join us Wed night at 9pm EST for a quick chat, as the sets will go live this month at 10pm EST! This month there are THREE new sets being released! Stop by the release party to win prizes, see some MFTeasers of the new sets and find out how you can become MFT’s next Guest Designer! Hope to see you there!

Now, I'm off to try and find a cold medicine that will work for me. Blech. Sleep's overrated, right!? Yeah, right! LOL

Till later!

MFT Presents: Paper Dolls

It's that time again!

First off, it's December, so the crunch is ON to get all of your Holiday shopping and crafting done! No more can you say, "Ehh, Christmas is NEXT month!" LOL I personally have Wyatt completely DONE, thanks to Black Friday! Now, the only person I've left to worry about BUYING for is Dave. Everyone else is getting homemade gifts. But those homemade gifts are what I need to finish, and that will take some time. And with my Cookie Party in 2 weeks, I have a LOT to do there, too! Plus another cookie party, Dave's fishing trip, birthday parties, a Disney trip squeezed in, work, wrapping, decorating, cookie making, etc... Serenity NOW! Or should I say, "what I need right now is an elf and an appletini!" LOL :)

HOWEVER, in less stress causing news, it's also MFTeaser time! How cute is this little girl???

This is one of the new sets that will be released on Wednesday, from MFT, called Paper Dolls. This little girl has a variety of different outfits that she can wear. The little bear is just one of them. Other adorable looks include a ballerina and a mermaid! Think of the gifties you could make with this set for the little girls in YOUR life!

I used my Basic Grey Sultry paper and AC ribbon. The button is from BG, too, and the sentiment is from Whipper Snapper. I paper pieced the bear outfit and colored her face with Copics. I cut out the hole for her face in the PP.

Make sure that you check out the other DT members (list on my sidebar) for other projects with the new sets! Tomorrow, you'll get a peek of the new Flopsey set! Till later...

Cookie Exchange Party Invites

I did a lot of procrastinating with these cards! I couldn't decide on a design OR a stamp set! I ended up settling with Made of Snow, from PTI, and Beate's Joy Fold Card. You can find the directions for this card on SCS, here. I made 20 of these suckers!

As you can see, I used a varity of PPs from SEI, punches from SU! and MSL, $1 Store rhinestones, and some chunky glitter flakes.

The orange circle functions to hold the opening layer closed. I also used the Faux Ribbon set (You're invited), Holiday Treats, Recipe Box, Believe, and Simple Alphabet. The snowflake is from SU!'s Snowflake Spot.

I used a cut-down recipe card for the inner part of the card.

This shot shows the side view and how it folds... And lastly, two more shots of different PP choices... Well, that's about it! Hope you likey! It's always a good time! Now that the invites are done, I need to start planning the rest! LOL
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We're going to be off to a friends house for our "Thanksgiving Lunch", and then immediately following, we're going to our "Thanksgiving Dinner" with family! We're very blessed to be surrounded by those we love on this day.
Till next time.

This is a Gift Card Pop-Up card that I made for yesterday's technique challenge on SCS. Directions can be found HERE. Don't you just LOVE this TCP image!? It's from one of the new sets, Deck the Hall. I HEART both Christmas sets, so you're sure to be seeing more with them!

I used my AC paper from last year, May Arts ribbon, a Michael's charm, Copics, and SU and Marvy punches. As you can see, it opens to reveal a Starbucks gift card. Heck, it even matches! LOL

Tomorrow, I should have pix of my invites to show you. Till later...

Up on a Housetop...

I love these little buildings in this LAD set, Holiday Lane. They're very "buildable", which you should know that I LOVE! For the other cards that I've made so far with this set, I stamped one of them, and then colored them. For this one, I just wanted to stamp them tone-on-tone, and make a whole street. I masked them just a bit to stamp the fence.

The edge of the layer was sponged, and I added lots of dimensionals and bling to fancy it up. I also added ribbon and a snowflake punch from MSL. The PP is from Imaginisce. I can't seem to put that paper down!

Well, my invites are done, and will be shown here shortly. Next up, peach jam and more strawberry jam! But first, we have playgroup! :)

Till later...

I'm Still Here!

Sorry for my lack of posts! I have things to show you, but my hubby has had the camera for the past few days, so I don't have pix yet.

I've been super busy, as I'm sure, most of you have. I've been making oodles of Christmas gifts, mostly in the canned fruit jam and butter variety. Today, I've also been making my Cookie Exchange Party invites, so they're keeping me super busy! I'll show them here soon.

In other news, my little Wyatt is now officially a bike rider - without training wheels, that is! He's SO stinking cute on his little bike, I have to say! So, in a matter of a couple of months, he's learned to swim and ride a 2-wheeler! I can't believe how big he's getting!

Well, I hate that I've nothing to show you today, but never fear, I'll be back with something soon! Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! Last night I watched Elf with Wyatt. I love that movie! "I love to smile. Smiling's my favorite!" LOL Too funny!

BC Dzyns Teaser: ...And Then I Said...

Welcome to the BCDzyns Blog Hop! This new set, if you haven't heard, is called, And Then I Said. It comes with this awesome image, and a ton of sentiments! Perfect for young girls, so if you are one, or if you're a mother of one, you're going to love this set! You can find it tonight on the MFT site.

If you want to start the Hop from the beginning, click HERE. There's lots of goodness to see, so you won't want to miss a thing!

I colored Miss Chica with my Copics, and paper pieced her shirt and tank with my Basic Grey Sultry paper. The ribbon is from AC, the flower is from CTMH, and the buttons are from Basic Grey and Moxie. I added a little dot of white gel pen on her eyes and her bottom lip for a bit of shine. I hope that you like the preview! To continue with the Hop, go check out my friend Michelle. She's a super sweet chick with fabulous style. Find her HERE.

So I finally got back into my stamp room today, after a canning marathon. So far, I've got apple butter, applesauce, pear butter, hot pepper jelly, strawberry jam, and strawberry preserves! Wohoo! Now, I'm just waiting for the U-Pick farm to open up so I can get some more strawberries. I'm also on the look out for some good peaches. Peach butter just sounds super yummy!

What have you all been up to? I've not been very chatty on here, and I kind of miss it - so drop me a line, kay? :)

Christmas Bells

This is a card that I made last week for the Color Challenge on SCS. I used my LAD set, Holiday Lane. I LOVE that set! You can find it here. I also used Amy Rysavy's sketch (#45).

I used cream PTI CS and sponged and spritzed it. For the image, I used several stamps in the set, to create the scene. I did mask the snowman and tree to stamp the fence. The image is colored with Copics, and I used my Spica pen to accent the snow and light. The PP is from Imaginisce and I used my MSL punch for the snowflakes. Ribbon is from SU! and the buttons are from Basic Grey.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's BCDzyns Blog Hop! You're going to LOVE this new set! :)

Purrrrrfect Christmas

I think I mentioned how much I love these Stephanie Fizer images from MFT, but it bears repeating! These were uber fun to color, but it was even more fun to give them their fuzzy noses! LOL I used white flock and a 2-way glue pen for that detail.

I used my Imaginisce PP for this one, also, AND my MSL snowflake punch! ("My favorite things" this season! :)) I also used PTI ribbon, Nesties, Bella BonBons, Spica pen for ornament strings, and a charm from Michael's.And the close-up...

So for tomorrow, I've got a Lizzie Anne card for you. Till then...

Hoot of a Christmas

I've been dying to ink up this set from MFT Presents' Stephanie Fizer line! I've loved all three from this recent release, but only just now got to chance to play with them! I don't think I've seen a card I didn't like with these images! LOL I also used MFT's Behind the Scenes for the polka dots.

I colored my little "hooters" with Copics and used Crystal Effects on their eyes. The PP is from Imaginisce, and the snowflake punch is from MSL. I also used a Bella Dot, a button from my stash, SU! ribbon, and my Nesties. There's also some clear Spica pen on the ornament strings. Here's a close-up of their little eyes.

And now I'm off! Have a wonderful Friday! Tomorrow will bring my SSC card, so I'll see you then!

Build a Bauble - Shimmerz and Pearl Ex

This is the other forgotten post that I told you about yesterday. I had fun playing with this new set, Build a Bauble, from Lizzie Anne! The first card was made with pink and olive Shimmerz paints. The sentiment, from Holiday Script, was stamped in silver ink. Ribbon is from SU!
For this tall 6 1/2 by 3 1/4 card, I played with my underloved Pearl Ex powders. Depending on the light, the bulb can look purple or blue. I absolutely love the sentiments in this set. The fonts are so pretty! The hook is a paper clip that I trimmed and bent to the shape that I wanted.

Tomorrow should bring a cutie from MFT, so hopefully, I'll see you back her then! :)

Hot Dog!

This was a forgotten post! (I have another one for tomorrow, too! Yikes!) I made this for my friend, Mimi, and gave it to her for her birthday. I used Lizzie Anne's new(er) sets, Circle Sentiments and Party Animals, and Jody's Boxy Bag pattern. Hope you like it... Mimi seemed to! :)

I filled the bag with pink M&Ms (ONLY the light pink ones, because the darker color didn't match the PP! Unfortunately, I'm serious... LOL)

Oh, and these pix were taken when I had only one light bulb in my photo set up, so they were much cuter IRL. :) I especially like the frosting on the dog's lips. LOL

Gotta run! If you have any questions, leave a comment, and I'll be back later!

Gimme Candy!

This is that Halloween set that I was referring to in the previous post! Pix taken and everything! LOL Oh well! I was all about the CANDY with this!!!
This is a cheapy little $1 tin from Target that I made a tag for. The stamp was colored with Copics (of course), and is from Lizzie Anne. I got the ribbon from my sweet friend, Michelle. Love it girl - thanks! :)
This is one of those coolio PTI tins that I stamped with that circle image from Spooky Sweets II.
And lastly, the card. The image and sentiments are from LAD, also. PP is from K&Company. I also used the MSL bat punch and my Copics. This is a 5 1/4 card.

I hope that you like the set, even if it IS November! LOL

I'll be back soon!
