Cool Beans!

So, my little Wyatt loves the show Super Why, so you'll have to forgive me with this card, because this is the idea that came to me this morning while it was playing on TV. If you're not familiar with the show, it's a great educational show for the preschool set, that also references many of the children's stories, like Jack and the Beanstalk. If you've got a little one, check it out! It's really cute!

This card uses all three sets that will be released tonight at Midnight EST from My Favorite Things, By the Seashore, Essential Sentiments, and Build a Bouquet. All are must-haves, for sure! Oh yeah, and the little grass clump comes from another MFT set, It's a Jungle Out There.

I created the clouds with the circles from the Bouquet set, along with the stem and leaves for the "stalk". I just chained together the longest stem and larger leaf. There is some Stickles around the clouds that didn't pick up well in the pic, and of course, the sentiment is from the sentiment set. I used my Dew Drops for the solid stamps (the clouds are actually a pale blue) and colored the girl/dog with Copics. This is a 3 1/4 x 6 1/2 card.

There has been lots of talk on the forums about the price of sentiments, and how some manufacturers price them too high. Well, this MFT sentiment set contains 28 different sentiments, and will be priced at a SUPER economical $15.95!!! That figures up to $0.57 a stamp!!! (Thanks Lauren :)) Trust me, you won't be sorry you picked this set up!

Also, make sure that you check out the MFT forum on SCS, because Kim's having a Release Party over there, complete with a Scavenger Hunt for a free set!

Tomorrow, I'll have one more MFT card to show you, using the new sentiment set, so I'll see you then! Make sure you're checking out all of the other blogs/galleries from the MFT DT! (Links are on my sidebar.) Some of them won't be starting their Sneak Peeks until tomorrow, so keep checking back!

Build a Bouquet...or a Snowman???

Both of the cards that I'm showing you today were made from the upcoming new stamp set from My Favorite Things, Build a Bouquet. This first one is more traditional, and the second is a little more out-of-the-box! I hope that you like both! They also feature the third new release that is a DEFINITE MUST-HAVE, Essential Sentiments. All three sets will be released on Nov. 1st!!!

My Best Friends card was made with 7 stamps from the Build a Bouquet set. If you notice the pot - there are two stamps layered together to create the pattern on it. I used SU!'s Perfect and Pale Plum, Celery POP paper, and PTI's SS. I Cuttlebugged the Swirls and the ribbon is from May Arts. For the second card, I went with a winter theme, and created a snowman! This was one of the first ideas that I had when I first saw this set, and it's solid circles. This card uses 6 stamps from the set, and the "carrot" and "arm" stamps are two of the stamps also used in the above card for the leaf vein and stem. (The carrot was made with the same stamp that also made the twigs on the arm branches.)

I used my black Sharpie to make the little dots for eyes, and cut the hat out of a small Bayou scrap - but the rest are stamps. I just love the tiny flower stamp for snow! And isn't that sentiment perfect for this card?!?

The ribbon is from Basic Gray, the tag and embossing from the Cuttlebug, and scallop rectangle from a Spellbinders die. Paper used is Bayou, Sky, PTI SS, and Kraft.

So, now I'm off to run and get ready for our MOMS Club Halloween Party! Should be completely adorable - I just hope that the weather holds out! See you soon with another Sneak Peek!

MFT Sneak Peek #1

This adorable new set is one of the upcoming releases from My Favorite Things, called By the Seashore. In usual MFT style, there is all kinds of possibilities for this set, especially if you're like me and love to build scenes! I used a total of 8 stamps from the set on this card, and that combined with the coloring and Stickles was SO MUCH FUN!!! And don't you just love the font for that sentiment!?! This set is available on Nov. 1st!

The hat is a separate stamp, so for those of you concerned about the "headlessness" of the set, you can easily create one! My favorite stamp in the set, though, probably has to be the bird on the pylons! This is one of my favorite MFT sets, not only because I live in FL and can pretty much use it all year round, but also because of the pretty dog! We have a yellow lab, so I can totally envision this chick as myself!

I'll have more previews for you in the next couple of days, so stay tuned! Now I'm off to go do some laundry! Have a good one!!!

O Christmas Tree

I'm SO having fun with this Hanna Stamps set, Tis the Season! I still even have more ideas to play with, if I get time today! This is a pretty simple layout, but I wanted to showcase the tree, and with it's size, you can do that! This is a 5 1/4 square card, so you can get a picture of the height of the main image. The star, however, is an extra stamp, so it could be a bit shorter if you'd rather that.

I just used my ink pads and Aqua Painter to watercolor, added the sentiment with my KF Snap Stamps, and tied a ribbon - easy peasy. The three snowflakes on the bkgd are stamps from the set, as is the ornament, star, and gift trio. So many choices, so little time!!! :)

Well, the stamps are now available here, so go check them out - RIGHT NOW!!! Run!!! :) I hope to have more samples to show you soon, so see you then!

Oh, and don't forget to mark your calendar for Nov. 1st, because that's the day of the My Favorite Things 3 stamp set release!!! You will HAVE to have them. ;)

Window Treatment

Tomorrow is the BIG day for Hanna Stamps lovers - and really, what's not to love, huh??? This set, Tis the Season, will be on sale, along with But I Want It over on the Hanna Stamps website!!! Remember, no S/H on any order anywhere, so take advantage of Kristi's generosity while you can!!!

I ain't gonna lie... This card WILL NOT be one duplicated for this year's Christmas cards. Boy, did I struggle with this card, trying to get what was in my head on paper! Oh well, I'm pretty happy with the results.

Miss Hanna is cut out of the box in this card. (Imagine my fun cutting out that teeny tiny arm and hand, btw!) She is decorating her window with the adorable ornaments from the set. She is paper pieced with last year's SU! Christmas paper - don't you love that skirt? Oh, and check out her boots! I pieced those as well, but the "fur" is LA that was not heat set, so it's still cream, and while it was still wet, I sprinkled it with Brownstone MSL glitter. SO pretty IRL! And I didn't even have to mask her feet for the oval because they were paper pieced! Got to love that! The rest of her was colored with Copics.

The ornaments were stamped on a piece of CS vellum, and colored with Copics. I made the "panes" by layering 4 small Sky squares onto a larger black square and leaving a small space in between. Then I made sure that her hand and arm were lined up right before I adhesed (yes, I realize that that's not spelled correctly, but I like a little variety in my life, KWIM?!?) it all down. The photo corner is there to give the illusion of a curtain.

And lastly, the sentiment is stamped on a piece of transparency. It kind of arcs over the main image, and is held on the card by the ribbons. The bkgd was Cuttlebugged with my Snowflake folder.

Well, tomorrow, I'll have another Hanna card for you, so I'll see you then! Have a good one!

Don't You Just LOVE HER???

This is my first sneak peek of the brand new Hanna Stamps second stamp set!!! This one is called Tis the Season, and I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!! Have you gotten the first Hanna set yet? Because if you didn't, you can still take advantage of the free world-wide shipping for BOTH sets! You can't get the true effect of these sets till you play with them yourself, honestly. This set is being released this Friday, so mark your calendar!!!

Now for the card...
I colored the image with Copics, used Stickles and Liquid Applique for the snow, and colored the star with a silver Stardust pen. The bkgd is a piece of CS Vellum that was Cuttlebugged with my Snowflake folder.

Hope you like her as much as I do! And now I'm off to the Y! Have a wonderful evening, and make sure to take a peek at the other DT members blogs and galleries (list on the sidebar)!!!

A Big Deal...

How cute is this little dog from Hambo??? I think he's so sweet and innocent looking (or she, since he DOES have rhinestones on his collar!!!), and that's the reason I chose this sentiment to go with him. The inside reads, "But I guess you would know more about it than I would." LOL I LOVE that! You can find these and other Hambo Stamps here.

The paper is from Making Memories' {note}worthy collection. It's all SO pretty, I had to snag some up the last time I was at my LSS. I did some faux stitching and used a couple of my Prima flowers (yeah, since I have boatloads of them!). And again, I used my Copic markers and Spellbinders dies. The notching on the aqua paper was pre-cut.

I also wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who left an encouraging comment on my last post. We'll take all of the prayers that we can get! You guys are the best!!!

Creeping Up

Yeah! My mojo seems to be slowly "creeping" back today. What a relief that is! In the light of everything else that's been going on lately with the fam, it's a relief to have THAT, kwim??? Probably not, because I didn't say in the first place what has been going on. Dave got laid off last Friday, so it looks like, until he's accepted for another job, I'm going to be picking up some hours at the hospital. (Insert look of complete disgust here.) Therefore, with the stress level around here as it is, card making has NOT been coming easy for me.

THIS card, however, did. I'm really happy with how it turned out, even though the pic on this rare rainy Florida day didn't come out so hot. (Click on it for a better view.) The stamps used are from Hambo's newest Halloween collection, found here.

I used my new AC Thickers and Spellbinders dies with this, along with my beloved Copics and Tool Kit. And I'm starting to wish that I had picked up more of this Doodlebug Halloween paper, because I LOVE the colors in it!

Thanks for peeking in. Hope to have more for you soon! Have a great evening!

Thinking Highly of You

This is a little 4 1/4 square Lizzie Anne card that I made with their new High Hellos set. Isn't this topiary adorable??? You can find the set here.

I watercolored the main image with SU! ink pads and an Aqua Painter. The ribbon and PP are from Crate Paper. I really like the color combination.

Well, I'm off to finish the laundry, and then off to the Y with the fam. Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend! Hopefully I'll get some stamping done!

Halloween is for Suckers

Notice something new on this card??? Besides the stamps, that is??? Yes, I finally got my new Spellbinders dies, and I LOVE THEM!!! The black scallop layer is embossed, though it doesn't come out in the picture. Can't wait to play with them some more!

Now back to the card... This one actually uses 4 new Hambo Halloween stamps, the pig, sentiment, sucker, and candy bag (also seen colored in this card). I colored the images with Copics, and the sucker has a Page Pebble on it. The paper is from last year's SU! Halloween DP line. Card base and ribbon are both Vintage Violet.

I'm not feeling much like myself lately, so forgive my lack of chattiness. I'm sure I'll be good as gold soon, though. Hope you have a wonderful evening!

All Become Wary

This is a Hambo card in which I tried to make the adorable and funny sentiment (Mom R., I'm totally talking about someone ELSE'S kin :)) take center stage, instead of just stamping it on the inside. And did you see that cutie little ghost with the tennis shoes??? SO much fun to color! You can get both stamps here. The PP is from Doodlebug.

Now, we're off for the grocery! Back soon with another Hambo card!

Wanna Contribute to a Wonderful Cause???

Here's my card. Now keep reading...Check out this link...

This is the second part of the My Favorite Things effort to "stamp out" Breast Cancer, with the first one being, of course the 50% of all proceeds from the Think Pink set going directly to Breast Cancer research.

Okay, here's the deal... Eighteen of the MFT designers have made a super special card to be packaged all together for a very special eBay auction. So, that means the winner of the auction will win ALL 18 Think Pink cards from the MFT Design Team (see sidebar for the who's who)!!!

Now what is Kim going to do with the money from the eBay sale??? Give it to the Susan G. Koman foundation, of course!!! So this is a TOTAL win-win situation for this super special winner of this auction!!!

What are you waiting for? Go now! Stop reading this! Place your bid! :)

(If you're still reading this, shame on you! ;)) See you tomorrow with a new Hambo card!

It's Halloween!

How cute are these images??? This is brand spankin' new rubber from Hambo Stamps. That bag of candy was so fun to color, let me tell you! I went with a very simple layout, because I felt like the images were strong enough. The "thread" in the buttons is actually tiny strips of paper, and I inked the sentiment with my SU! markers.

Hope you're all having a great weekend. I should have more stuff real soon. Don't forget to check out the new Hambo Halloween Stamps. You'll definitely want to be picking some up!

A Gift for You

Just wanted to show you the little Bare Elements Chris box that I just finished altering. I used the Lizzie Anne set, Christmas in the City, and some American Crafts paper to make it. The red button covers a magnet that keeps the box closed. The sentiment comes from two different LAD sets, Holiday Cheer ("a gift for you:") and Sketched Sentiments ("you"). I only used part of the "you rock" sentiment to get the you. The images were colored with my Copics, and the whole piece was covered in a layer of Mod Podge to protect it (well, except the ribbon :)).

These boxes make awesome gifts, and I was totally planning on giving it to someone for the holidays with a gift card in it (fits perfectly) with some crimped shredded paper, but after it was finished, I'm not sure I can give it away! LOL ;) Maybe I'll give it to Dave to put a gift for me in!!! (Double Wink)

Well, thanks for checking in, and have a great weekend! I may be back with something later, though, so don't stay away too long! :)

Hambo News!

Did you notice the newest DT member for Hambo over there on my sidebar??? Yes, Taylor had decided to join the Hambo team! Wohoo! I'm sure I'll LOVE everything that she creates with these stamps! Heck, I love everything she creates period! :) Welcome, Taylor!

And what's more?! Holly (aka Toy) will be filling in for Isabelle while she is on a 2 month stamping sabbatical. So welcome Holly as well!

Let it Snow!

This is a card made with the cutie Lizzie Anne set, called Christmas in the City. I watercolored the main image to make it look like the skates were hanging from pegs on a shelf. The jumbo eyelets are from SU!, and I'm so loving them! I got those on my recent must-place-a-big-order-today shipment. :)

Well, I was up WAY too late last night, and tonight doesn't look like a much shorter one, either, so I think I'm going to take my own nappie this afternoon! See you tomorrow with hopefully a super cutie altered Chris Bare Elements box with this LAD set!

Gratitude

This is a card I made while playing with my new MFT Boho Blossoms set. I wanted to create some patterned paper and use this yummy teal ribbon, and this is what I came up with. The slide is a piece of chipboard that I covered with some Bazzill Bling. The sentiment is from PTI's Beautiful Blooms set.

Well, I guess that's about it for tonight! I'm not feeling very chatty. I think it's time to go check the TiVo, and see what's waiting for me tonight! :)

Sow Have You Been?

I'm still here! I've just been working on other things. I made 4 cards today, but haven't able to take pix of them, yet. Then I remembered this card! I made it weeks ago, and forgot to upload it. (Bad Blogger!)

This sentiment and image are both from Hambo Stamps. I used some SEI paper and an altered CPS sketch. The flower is a Prima Sprite. That brad used to be white, but I embossed it with some Black EP, because I don't have large black brads. I colored the image with my Prismacolor Pencils.

I'll be back tomorrow with a card. Hope you're having a good week!

Life is Cheap (and some news!)

Happy World Card Making Day, everyone!

Disclaimer...
The card that you see above was made BEFORE I saw this wonderful creation by Cambria. Weird, huh! There are 5 stamps in this image, and we managed to place them in pretty much the same exact spots!!! I guess it's true what they say about great minds! ;) LOL

This is a card that I made while playing with the accessories that come in the new Hanna Stamps! set, But I Need It. BTW, this set is NOW AVAILABLE at the above link, so make sure that you check that out! The set is only $15.50, and there's NO SHIPPING on all orders placed in the month of October!!! Who can resist that!?!

The image was colored with my Copics, and the scallop edge came from my Cloud Provocraft scissors. The CC came from a piece of PP that I ended up not using. The sentiment is not part of the set, but comes from Inky Antics. Ribbon is May Arts.

The sentiment looks blurred here again, so I'll tell you that it says "Life is cheap. It's the accessories that kill you." I love that! Click on the pic for a better view of the card. Hey, then you could also see the coolio new watermark that Beth made us!

AND IN OTHER NEWS...

Make sure that you check out the Lizzie Anne site, because for TODAY ONLY, they have FIVE sets for $12! That includes the popular Spooked set, AND the brand spankin' new Celebration Frames!

Also, make sure that you're submitting your cards for the LAD contest! You can enter as many times as you want, and they've just increased the number of Runner Up prizes from 2 to 10! All cards will be donated to Cards for Cancer.

Well, I'm off to see if I can start on another card before the men in my life wake up from their naps! :) Have a wonderful weekend!

But I Need It!!!

That's how you're going to feel about this set tomorrow! ;) Only hours are left before the new release of the very first Hanna Stamps stamp set!!! You're SO going to LOVE her!!! (Sorry this is getting posted so late in the day!)

I used my new Recess paper, from Basic Gray, and stamped the "cluster stamp" diagonally across it to make it look like Hanna was doodling on her homework about her newest shopping "needs"! I also used some yummy Recess ribbon with my Hodgepodge. And Hanna is watercolored, using an aqua painter and ink pads.

Oh yeah, make sure you read THIS! HOLY MOLY!!!

ETA: Okay, I did retake the pic, and it looks fine on my computer. It must be Blogger resizing the pic that's effecting the clarity. Anyone else having this problem??? Yuck! Click on the pic for a MUCH better view - you can even see some of the sparkle!!!

Not sure what happened to this picture?! It looked fine while I was editing it! I promise the sentiment isn't smeared looking IRL! Well, maybe I'll retake it later...

Anywho, this is a set from Lizzie Anne, called Christmas in the City. I just love that little snowman! I colored both the trees and the snowman with my Copics, and added some Sakura Stardust pen to the trees so that they sparkle. This is a 4.5 square card.

Also, make sure to check out the new and improved Sketchbook on the LAD site! There's LOTS of good stuff in there to inspire you!

Well, that's all for this morning, but check back later! I should have a new Hanna sneak peek for you soon! :)

Trick-or-Treat

A few weeks ago, I got this adorable Penny Black image in the mail from my blogging buddy, Jen. She was challenging me, and some other stampers, to create a card with the image for some fun! What a great idea, right!?! Well, I broke out some of my Doodlebug paper from last year, and started to play!

I used the colors from the paper to color the image with my Copics, then I cut it out, allowing the tail to hang down. (There's a name for this technique, but it escapes me! Sorry, I'm bad with techniques! Out of the Box, maybe???) For the purple layer, I used a polka dot background that I received at StampFest (can't remember the vendor - I'll have to ask Sherry! LOL ETA: Got it - it's Stamp Camp!) for the lower part of the piece. Then I stamped the bats from MFT's Fright Night on top with my Glue Pad, and added some black Martha Stewart glitter. It's really spaw-kly IRL!

The sentiment is also from Fright Night, and the stitching is from a Technique Tuesday set I've had for a while. I moved the words around in the sentiment for it to fit in the punch. It's usually all on one line. Then I added the doodling, and viola! It's done!

Hope you like it, Jen! That image was so much fun to play with!

I hope to be back with more soon, so stay tuned!

A Couple of Announcements...

First off, I want to give a "shout out" to Mimi, because it's her birthday today! So, Happy Birthday, my friend! Also, check out her blog, as she has all kinds of stamp sets for sale. There might be something that you've been looking for.

Also, Jen is giving away Blog Tarts over on her blog! You have a chance to win one of two MFT Think Pink sets! Remember, October is Breast Cancer awareness month! We gotta look out for each other!

And lastly, I've been doing some blog reconstruction, over on my sidebar. I've deleted a couple of things, like the Galleries Stalk Worthy and Shows TiVo worthy, to make room for other things. For the shows, I figure, no one really looks at that anyways! And for the galleries, I realized that the only person who was on that list, and doesn't have a blog or isn't on a DT with me, was Kelly Lunceford (atomicbutterfly)! While I feel that her work may be worthy of having an entire category dedicated to just her, I figured that I could just remember to go and check out her gallery periodically! :)

For the Blogs View Worthy section, I may have deleted your name and added it to another list, just in case you're looking and don't see it! However, if you're not on any list, leave me a comment here, and I'll add your link!

Okay, that's it for today, I think! ;) Have a great afternoon, and I'll see you back here tomorrow with another card or two!

Meet Hanna.

Is she adorable, or what?!?

Back story - Back in August at StampFest Orlando, I met a wonderful lady named Kristi Ferro (one of several wonderful ladies I met that day!). We talked about nursing and stamping, and I thought she was so sweet! Well, little did I know that she would soon be emailing me to ask me to join her Design Team for her brand new company, Hanna Stamps!

Kristi emailed me the wonderful new images of her stamp sets, and I couldn't say no! They were just too adorable. She named the company after her daughter, but you can find out more about that here. It was really interesting to me to find out how she came up with the concept!

Well, Kristi has assembled a wonderful Design Team that I feel lucky to be a part of. Here is her announcement on her own blog, and the links to all of the DT members. I'll be adding the list to my own sidebar very soon, but I'm in a hurry this morning, so check hers out! Thank you SO much for this opportunity, Kristi!

About the card - I colored Hanna with my Prismacolor Pencils, and added shadows with my Prismacolor Marker. The paper is some new Scenic Route that I'm in love with, and I finished it off with a couple of Prima flowers and some May Arts ribbon. The brad is from Bazzill.

I will have more previews soon, but make sure that you mark your calendar for this Friday, Oct. 5th, because that is when Hanna Stamps is going LIVE! (The website is under construction, but orders will be able to be placed via her blog on Friday!) I've seen two of the upcoming sets, and I think that Miss Hanna is going to be well loved!!! (You should see what Kristi's got planned for Christmas!!!)

Well, I think that that's all for now! I hope that you LOVE her as much as I do!

Did everyone get their Lizzie Anne newsletter today? There's lots of good stuff in there! You can sign up for that here, to make sure you don't miss any special announcements, like this one...
One other nugget of info would be the announcement of a special stamp set release this Saturday (the 6th) for World Card Making Day, AND it will be on sale for $12, along with the THREE other sets that it coordinates with! You won't have any sneak peeks, though, so you must go over to the website on that day to check it out! I've seen it, though, and it's awesome!

Hambo Stamps also has some new things coming VERY soon! I hope to have something to show you within the week! Good stuff, I tell ya!

And lastly, some of you might have figured out my hint of something else to come VERY soon! If not, stay tuned! I have a feeling there's going to be lots of posts her on CNS this week, and you won't want to miss a thing!!!

We're in this Together!

This is the most special of all of the My Favorite Things sets, because this one is on a Mission! This is Think Pink, and it is so special because 50% of the proceeds from each set sold will go directly to breast cancer initiatives. Unfortunately, it is a disease that most likely has effected us all, and anything we can do to help would be a huge step in the right direction to finding a cure.
