A Card for Kyle

My friend, Sandie, is always telling me that she looks forward to two cards every year, the birthday card I make her and my Cookie Exchange party invite. While this is super sweet, it does put a bit of pressure on me each year to out-do the year before. I'm fine with that, though, because I could use a push every once in a while to go outside of my "box".
Well, this card is for Sandie's little boy, Kyle. He's also one of Wyatt's buddies, and he just turned four. His party is this afternoon. I hope that Sandie, I mean Kyle, likes his card. :)
This card is also my SSC card for the week. Check out Lauren's post with her sketch and card HERE.
As I was lying in bed this morning (I do my best thinking there, well, and in the bathroom...), I was thinking that these TCP sets (that shamefully I hadn't used till today) would be perfect for this sketch. I can't tell you how much I LOVE these penguins!!! They are so stinking adorable, and I had to have the sets immediately when they were released, and they both sat on my table ever since. Well, till today! Now I can't wait to make something else with them!
I also ordered the NEW TCP sets, and I can't wait for THOSE to get here! I'm vowing to create something with those a bit sooner, though. :)
Anywho, about the card... I actually cut the three penguins apart so that I could easily stamp them individually. I hate using markers to ink up a stamp. They'll fit right back together when I want them to.
I embossed the star with a Cuttlebug mini folder, and stamped the sentiment inside. I used my Threading Water punch for the red border. The right edge tucks underneath of it. I stamped the twill tape with one of the sentiment from the sets, "Happy trails to you", with my Pure Poppy Palette ink, and stapled it down. The card is like a matchbook card on it's side.

Here is a view of it open. I'm not sure what it is about red, but it always looks funky when I upload it, unless I remember to save it as a PNG file. Grr...

Here's the other girls who participate in the sketch each week. Make sure to check out their cards, too!

Something I Whipped Up

I just got this Paper Pretties stamp set, Sweets for the Sweet, in the mail today from Christie, and thought that I would "whip something up" for today's Prettie Thursday. I putzed around with this card for entirely too long, waiting patiently for my mojo to come running back to me, but alas, this was all I could manage without it.

I have had a cold since Sunday, and though I've definitely felt worse, I haven't felt much like wandering into my stamp room for the majority of the week. Today though, I felt more energized, so I gave it a go. Here's the result.

Note: It's not the set's fault. It's an adorable cooking set that I will probably make my Cookie Exchange invites with for this year. Today just wasn't it's day, here in the DuBosque house. Perhaps next week, I'll try and do it justice...

Okay, enough about that! I used Basic Gray's Sultry PP for my color inspiration. I paper pieced the oven mit, and added some Liquid Applique to the top. The silver on the main image was done with a silver Stardust pen. The rest is colored with Copics.

Ribbon is SU, as well as the felt flowers. The black flower centers are Bella Dots. I just got a package of those (along with some "needed" Bellas) in the mail the other day, and couldn't wait to use them! Lastly, to finish of the card, I tucked a spatula charm (also Stamping Bella) into the ribbon bow, and did some piercing up the side of the PP.

The card's not terrible, but it's not my favorite. Maybe it'll be yours?! ;)

Till next time...

Wild Poppies (and an Enabling Alert!!!)

*Let me preface this by saying that NO ONE is paying me for this post (although, I'm open for offers! LOL). I just like the stuff, and want to share!*

I just got my Papertrey goodies on Saturday, and I had a chance to play over the weekend while Dave was occupying Wyatt outside. For this card, I recycled another layout that I used for a previous AAS card. I like the large tilted panel!
I used the Polka Dot Basics set for the Plum layer, and the new Linen Vellum for the tilted piece. I spritzed the whole thing with a Cocoa marker, but the part that I like the best is my new Flower Soft! Check it out...
Take a look at the "fluff" in the center of the flowers. That is the Lemon Flower Soft that I glued (with my regular Crystal Effects) to the centers to look like a "polleny" stamen. I saw it first at CHA, and fell in love with it! Then, when I noticed (on a SCS banner ad) that Flourishes was carrying it, I had to have some! I think it's SO cool, and there are so many uses this that us stampers could REALLY take advange of! Here's the display from CHA...
This company actually sells these pre-printed images that you sort of "fill in" with the Flower Soft. Well, obviously, WE already HAVE tons of images - we just need to STAMP them!!! You can also see in this picture the little tubs that the different colors come in. They have mixed colors and solid colors (that's what I bought). Think of the landscape images we can create!

Lastly, some more deets... I used PTI's Dark Chocolate, Plum Pudding, and Lavender Moon ink, as well as Palette's Landscape. The buttons are SU and Chatterbox, and the ribbon is PTI. I used White Craft to stamp the polka dots.
Well, that's about it! I hope that you think it's as cool as I do! Now, I'm off to go get some school in with Wyatt. Have a great day!!!

You're Got Game!

This is a 4 1/4 in sq card that I made, using some LAD stamps and American Crafts PP. I Cuttlebugged the Carribean layer, cut the keyboard off of the computer, and popped it up in the center of the layer. The sentiment was cut out with a new Spellbinder's die and attached with SU brads.

The controller was stamped and made into a tag with some empty circle rims and my handy dandy hammer. :) Ribbon is Doodlebug. And, geesh - I think that's about it!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet, as I'm pre-posting this, and have no idea what's going to be going on in my life on Tuesday! LOL Therefore, I've nothing else to say!

I just got a Bella order, though, and my PTI stuff should be here tomorrow, so I figure that I'll have some of that to show you by then! :) Till later...

Our Love is In Tents

I picked up this Moxie PP at my LSS the other day, because I knew that it would be perfect with this MFT set, Nature Calls. I also had to grab the buttons to go with! This card went to my Hubby, because this was his "pampering weekend"! I thought that it was a must to make a card to give to him each day of it!

I layered the buttons and tied with Linen Thread. The ribbon is SU, and so is the Flannel bkgd stamp on the Pumpkin layer. The sentiment came from the MFT accessory set to this one, called What's Your Sign. I colored with Copics, and used my Nesties for the rectangles.

Well, I hope that you all had a great weekend! Tomorrow should bring a Lizzie Anne card! TTFN!

Some People to Thank...

I recently was tagged with a couple very nice awards from a couple very nice people, and I'm just getting around to posting them! The last one is one that I posted already, but told you I'd get back to you with the weird facts. Well, since it's 5:45 in the am here right now, maybe my mind will be a bit more "random" than usual, and give you something different. (Not been sleeping really well lately...) This tag came from Shannon Erskine, or e3stamper. She was so super sweet to mention me on her list! I love her work, as well, and you will too. Make sure that you HOP on over to her blog, and check it out!
This tag came from Katie, from Paper Makeup. She is a professional make-up artist as well as a stamper, hence the blog title! She also has great cards over on her site, so check them out, and leave her some love!
This was the tag that I got from Chelle, a while back, who was dying to get some more dirt on me... ;) Well, I'll do my best to not repeat...

1. My toes spread freakishly wide. I can easily "hold hands" with them.

2. I'm a major fan of Crocs. I own several pair, and can't wait till I can justify getting more.

3. I think that dessert that doesn't involve chocolate is a waste of calories.

4. I might have mentioned this before, but I like my volume on my TV to be either an even number, or a multiple of 5. I'm not terribly OCD, but that is one thing that would qualify. Don't we ALL have just a LITTLE OCD!?

5. When I was last at Disney World (this past weekend), I SO bribed my husband with a back scratch to let me make one of those GIANT pixie sticks. It was really yummy, but on the first "hit", I underestimated the amount going in, and choked so much that it went up my nose. Man, that burned like you wouldn't believe - well, unless you're a cocaine user, in which case I suppose you WOULD believe it. I was REALLY careful after that.

6. My favorite color is blue, but Pumpkin and Olive are my favorite stamping colors. (Geesh, I'm getting desperate now, aren't I!)

7. I'm getting a cold, and have a sore throat, despite all of my efforts to avoid them with daily vitamins and Danactive dosing, and I'm really quite irritated about it.

Well, there you have it folks. More ammunition for you! LOL
Also, last, but not least, is Michelle, from My Stampin' Habit, who awarded me with the Arte y Pico. She's also a great one to check out! She's a teacher/stamper who makes the cutest cards! Thanks, Michelle!

Now my laptop battery is about to die, and I'm far to lazy at this awful hour to get up and plug it in, so I'm going to wrap this up, but I'll be back later with a card, or something...

Thanks again, Ladies!!!

Hello Friend

I have to say that I am really happy with this card. It is uber simple, but it makes me happy. :) This is my card for this week's SCC. You can find Lauren's great sketch here.

I used my Papertrey Ink sets, Birds of a Feather, Beautiful Blooms, and Garden of Life. The PP (American Crafts) inspired my color combo. The circle was cut with my Nestie die.

Geesh, I think that's about all I have to say about the card! Hope you like it as much as I do!

Is It Still Thursday if you Haven't Gone to Bed Yet???

It has been quite a day, let me tell you. First I woke with a terrible migraine. Then I took Wyatt to the Dr. for his 4 yr well check, and that's always eventful. Next, while we were in the middle of "school", I got a call from work asking me why I wasn't there! Long story short, I was expected to work today, even though I was scheduled for tomorrow. It's all fine now, but it brought much drama to my life this afternoon. I did end up going in for a little bit tonight, only to rush back and finish cleaning the house for my Scrapbook Night! The ladies all just left, and so now I finally have a chance to post my Prettie card!

If you're still reading - bless you! I'll talk about the card now! LOL The paper is Cosmo Cricket's Mr. Campy. The ribbon is from Papertrey, and the rake charm is from Stamping Bella. I used my new Spellbinders' die set for the sentiment, and added some SU! brads to secure. The cutie Paper Pretties Sophia image is colored with Copics.

Also, I forgot to mention a Prettie sale that is going on right now through the 30th! Here's the deets...
If you spend $25 you get a free sentiment.
If you spend $50 you get a free sentiment and a free roll of American Crafts ribbon.
If you spend $100 you get a free sentiment, a free roll of ribbon and FREE SHIPPING!!
Note: there is no coupon code - just enter in your choice of free merchandise in the comment box! Easy Peasy! :)

Well, that's about it! I'm off to bed! Be back later - I DO have things to show you, I just need to write the posts, at this point!

Till next time...

Comfy Baby Quilt

I had to have this Quilt Sampler set when it first came out, then when I took the time to come up with something to create with it, I was at a loss! I think I was putting too much pressure on myself to get it done that day, to submit it for the GSS. Well, news flash - I didn't win! (Although my owl card WAS an Honorable Mention!!!) LOL I still think the card came out pretty cute, though! Funny thing is... NOW I have all kinds of ideas for the set!!! That's what I get for waiting till the last minute!

I made this for a friend from work who is pregnant with twins, and is expecting any day now. They are both girls, if you couldn't tell from the color scheme. :) The other stamp set that I used is Bitty Baby Blessings. You can find them both at PTI.

I used this layout on an AAS card from a while back, if it seems familiar. I really need to start creating more sketches! LOL

I used PTI ribbon, SU! and Chatterbox buttons, DMC floss, adhesive pearls, and Copic markers. I cut out two onsies and layered them on top of each other for dimension, and because they're twins.

Well, that's about it. Tomorrow is Pretty Thursday, so expect to see a Sophia card here tomorrow. Till later...

Aloha!

This was a card that I made just for fun with a previously unused Lizzie Anne set, Garden Isle. I LOVE this little girl!!! She's too stinking cute!

She is colored with Copics, and her hair flower and grass skirt is elevated on dimensionals. There is also Stickles on her lei. I used Ki Pop Culture PP, and the little "dance" pebble is from them, also.

This is the same layout that I used for my Monster Squad card, from a week or two ago. I just flipped it!

Well, better hit the books with Wyatt! :) Now that the TS Faye scare is pretty much over for us, we can concentrate on other things. Hope any of you who live in the (not so much today) Sunshine State are staying safe this morning!

Till later...

Saturday Sketch Challenge Time!

I'm loving doing these Saturday Sketches, that Lauren makes each week, because it's motivating me to use stamps that I love, bought, and haven't seen ink yet! This LAD set, In the Meadow, is one of those sets! I had to have it, because of the dandelion puff image, and here I didn't even use that one! LOL Oh well, there's always next time!

So, this isn't really my typical cutesy style of card, and I kind of like that. It stretched me a little, but I can think of some ladies who would really dig getting a card like this in the mail.

The colors are all PTI - both of the purples, Dark Chocolate, and the ivory one. (Sorry, I can never remember the names of the colors. Funny, though, the Dark Chocolate one I never forget! LOL) I also used SU!'s CS vellum for the sentiment. Ribbon is from PTI, as well.

For the card base, I scored at 1/2, 5/8, and 4 1/4 to make the dimensional fold back for the sentiment flaps. They are adhered to the underside of the raised part of the fold to make them dimensional, as well. I used my Key Tag punch to cut them out. I also spritzed the base and stamped some random wild flowers from the set here and there.

On the image, I stamped one of the floral images in both purples, stamping off one of the times first for different layers of color. There is also Spica pen accents on the flowers, but you can't see them in the pic. :( I used my Nesties for both of the ovals. The butterfly is a MSL punch, and I used my Threading Water punch for the inside.

So, I hope that you like it! I'm going to forward you on to Lauren's blog for the actual sketch, because I had problems downloading it to my computer this time. While you're there, check out what's sure to be an awesome card for her version of the sketch! And while you're blurfing, here are a few more ladies that have been playing with this same sketch, so check 'em out...

Bet You Thought I Forgot...

Pretty Thursday, that is!!! Well...I did. But only for a second!!! :) Actually, I was so busy this afternoon that I didn't even think about stamping! (Can you imagine!? LOL)

This is a fun and simple Sophia card that I made in the back to school spirit. Wyatt's not going to preschool, as I'm going to teach him myself at home, but we have loads of friends that have their little munchkins heading off for the yellow school bus on Monday. Also, I spent the afternoon in a teacher supply store, getting ready for Wyatt and I's "big day". So, for those reasons, and the fact that I just got this CHF background stamp from Ellen today, I was feeling "scholastic". LOL

Now for the specs... The apple is from QuicKutz, ribbon is from SU!, and the image was colored with Copics. For the sentiment, I used a retired SU! set, maybe called Small Sayings (?), for the "thanks". The teacher and green apple is from PTI's Limitless Labels set.

Well, I'm at a friend's house, so I'm going to wrap this up, but I'll be back tomorrow, so check back in soon!

Totally Witchin'

This is my final card (that I've already made, that is...) from the last MFT release, and maybe one of my favorites! This set is Totally Witchin', and can be found HERE.
I had a lot of fun with this card, between the Niji Pearlescent Watercolors to the flocking on the spider!
This is the first time that I had a chance to play with these watercolors. They are SO pretty IRL! I took a couple detail pix, to try and give you a better view of how they look, but I think I came up a bit short. :(
I also added some clear Spica pen to the spider web, to make it look a bit more "web-like". The spider was flocked with some dark green Around the Block flock. The ribbon is from May Arts, and the clip is from Heidi Swapp.
Tomorrow should bring a cutie Lizzie Anne card, so I'll see you back here then!

My Guy

Disclaimer: It's 3:30am as I'm posting this. Wyatt had a bad dream and woke me up, and now I can't sleep. I can't really think clearly either, though, so bear with me! LOLThis is another card that I made with Lizzie Anne's All Guy set. I used the Mr. Campy PP again from Cosmo Cricket. I liked the rough "manliness" of it. LOL

This is for my hubby, of course. :) We decided, a week or so ago, that we would take turns pampering each other for a full weekend, to bring us closer together in our marriage. (It was actually HIS idea!) Well, my weekend was this past one, and boy was it nice! He made all of our meals and cleaned up, rubbed my back, painted my fingernails, etc... It was wonderful!!!

Well, I made this for him for HIS weekend that is coming up in a couple of weeks. The tickets inside are for back rubs, back scratches, etc... He'll love it! I just have to make sure that he doesn't see this post, which will be tricky since he's an email subscriber! LOL

Card-wise, this card is pretty straightforward. I spritzed it with some Cocoa ink, and sponged the tickets with Ruby. The pocket was made with a 2.5 x 3.5 piece of Sage, and scored at 2in. and 3in. with my Scor-Pal. I embossed it with my Nesties, as well. Lastly, ribbon and brads are SU!.

Well, that's about it! Tomorrow should bring my last MFT card that I made with the new Totally Witchin set. Till later...

Kirsten

What If?

This is a card that I made, while making cards for last week's MFT release. I got this sentiment at StampFest this year, and I've been dying to use it. Then, when I was playing with these Halloween sets for the release, Fright Night and Totally Witchin, I knew what I wanted to do with it!

The main image was colored with Copics, and is from the Fright Night set. The spider was embossed with Heat and Stick powder, and then dusted with Pebbles Pearlescent Chalk. The orange faux stitched circle is from PTI's Borders and Corners Circle set. The sentiment is from Stamps 'n More.

The PP is from Pine Cone Press, and it's some that I got from CHA, that Kim is actually selling in her store, now. The ribbon is May Arts. The tag is from MM. I'm too cheap to buy the actual tool to close the tag around the paper circle, so I just use my craft hammer. :) Works like a charm.

Well, that's about it for now! I've got to get ready for a playgroup. Till later!

QT Hooty Gets Dizzy!

Oh my goodness, I had so much fun with this card! This "QT Hooty" is from Pink Cat Studio, and this card is for a very special little girl, Wyatt's "other" girlfriend, Ava! (Yes, he's quite the ladies man! LOL)

This is Lauren's Saturday Sketch Challenge for today. I flipped it, but left the layout the same. This is a Spinner Card, and instructions, if you need them, can be found HERE. (I didn't follow the these instructions to the letter, but Cambria did a great job with them!) The adorable little owl rolls back and forth, from one side of the Aqua Mist layer to the other.

I added the branch, from PTI's Out on a Limb set, and the little clouds, from Hanna Stamps Plane Riley (it is actually an outline stamp that I cut separate from the Riley, stamped in white ink, and colored in with my Ranger white Inkssentials pen), for a little scene behind the owl. The package that QT is holding is from the Dress Up Lily set. (I tried to cut out that tiny balloon and string, but it just wasn't going to hold up to all of the handling that this card will get!)

The little flowers are from a Michael's $1 punch, and rhinestones are from Paper Salon. The big slot was punched twice with the SU! Word Window punch. QT is colored with Copics, of course. The PP is from Ki Memories, and the buttons are mostly from Creative Cafe, but the green one is SU!

This is a coupla pix that I took while QT was rolling...

Fore You!

This is one of the cards that I have made with the Lizzie Anne set, All Guy. I don't know about you, but I'm constantly looking for more guy sets, and this one totally fits the bill and is a MUST HAVE. I think that Dave would appreciate being able to give this card to a friend, along with a set of shiny new golf balls, for a birthday or something.

This is a Michelle Wooderson tent card. This idea for making a paper golf ball is not new, but I had to do it for this card. I don't know who did it first. You can't tell, but there is Crystal Effects on the tiny golf ball image, silver Stardust pen on the club, and Nestie embossing on both image layers.

It's just a clean and simple card, but I think it looks very "manly", and would work for any guy, esp. golf lovers!

Well, that's about it! Tomorrow, I'll be playing along with Lauren's Saturday Sketch Challenge (SSC), so check back in! Till later...

One of Those Days (and a sketch!)

This cute little image and sentiment is from Paper Pretties. I love chicks and eggs, and I love when I can use them for something other than Easter, too. I feel like this could be a year round card, what do you think?

The image is colored with Copics. The PP is from Cosmo Cricket's Honey Pie line. The flower is a Michael's bridal flower that I colored with Copics, to match the PP. The buttons is from SU!.

This is a 4 1/4 in. sq. card. I love making cards this size. You know, now that I'm looking at it. I SO wish that I had put a pearl in the center of that flower. Oh well! See folks, even though it may be HARD to believe, even I'M not perfect! (BIG wink :))

Also, because I like this layout, I thought that I would create a sketch for it, too! This is one of those magazine inspired sketches. This is my first time doing it in PhotoShop, too, so it's not all that pretty! LOL Here it is...
PLEASE, don't forget to link your creation to this post, if you decide to use the sketch! I would REALLY love to see it! If you post it on SCS, feel free to use ked8 in the keyword section.

Well, that's about it, folks! Tomorrow should bring a Lizzie Anne card. Till then...

MFTeaser: Totally Witchin'

So, this first one is a REAL teaser, 'cause I only used the sentiment from the new MFT set, Totally Witchin'! LOL I just had this idea, after seeing this tree from my MM line art stickers, and had to make this card with this sentiment! It's very simple, but I really like how it turned out.

The ACTUAL sentiment doesn't have an "s" one the end of "ghoulfriend", but I "borrowed" one from one of the other sentiments in the set. The spider is from last year's MFT Halloween set, Fright Night. (There IS a cool spider in the new set, but it didn't fit in the smaller punch I wanted to use. :))

And now for the image (in case you've been under a rock, and haven't seen any of the other Teasers! J/K :))...

This is the other card that I made with this new set. I also like how this one came out. I used the line art stickers again, but for this one, I stuck the spider web in the corner, sponged the card base, and then removed the sticker. It left the negative spider web.

My favorite part of this card is the tiny spiders crawling all around the image from the web! Adds to the creepiness. :)

I colored the image with Copics, and made a stone floor - like they were in a dungeon somewhere - with my Colorless Blender pen, like I did on the path yesterday. The broom is cut out and elevated. Ribbon is from May Arts.

So, that's about it for today, remember to check in to the MFT forum for the Release Party tonight from 9-11pm. They are always loads of fun!

Tomorrow is Prettie Thursday here, so I'll have something from Paper Pretties for you! Till then...

MFTeaser: Monster Squad

Aren't these little cuties the most adorable trick-or-treaters you've ever seen on paper!? This set is the first of the MFT Presents Stephanie Fizer line, called Monster Squad.

They're colored with Copics, and they're all embellished just a little bit, too. Some have Fun Flock on their ears, the small one on the end has clear Spica pen on her bow. I used white gel pen on a couple, and there's yellow Stickles on the "hair" of of the polka dot orange one. You can see the deets better in the second picture.

PP is from last year's (or maybe the year before?) Doodlebug line. They always have the cutest Halloween papers.
This is the haunted mansion from the same set. You can see from the detail picture that I cut the door so that it opens, and stuck one of the little kids from the first image in there, so that they look like they're answering the door.
I have a couple sheets of the Making Memories line art Halloween stickers, and I've used them in a few of the cards that I made this weekend. On this card, I used the little fence pieces for either side of the house. I love how it's sized perfectly!
There is Stickles in the windows for a shining light effect, and can you see my little stone path??? I took a tip from Maryanne's brick wall tutorial, and just removed ink with my Colorless Blender pen in tiny ovals.
The grass came from the It's a Jungle Out There set. The bats and sentiment came from the Fright Night set. I love how all of they all work together! I also used the polka dot stamp from the Behind the Scenes set for the bkgd paper.
The button is one of the clear ones from SU! that I backed with some more Doodlebug paper. The chimney is cut out of the box, and the ribbon (on both cards) is from May Arts.
Geesh, that's a lot of deets for 12:17 am! LOL Alrighty, now that Google finally let me upload pix and post this, I can rest easy and get to bed! :) I hope that you're all enjoying the previews.
Theck out the previous post, if you didn't already (and why the heck didn't you!? :)), for all of the deets on release night, and Teasers for two of the other sets that are being released.
Tomorrow, I'll post two cards from the cutest "adultish" Halloween set ever! Till then...

MFTeaser: What's the Story, Nature Calls, and What's Your Sign

Wow, that's a long post title! LOL

I was BUSY this weekend! I made NINE cards - I can't believe it! So, just for your viewing pleasure (wink), I'll have 2 cards to share with you for the next 3 days, gearing up for the big MFT release! There will be 5 sets in total available for your shopping enjoyment on Weds night! You're going to love them!

The above card is using Nature Calls and it's accessory set, What's Your Sign. These sets are so stinking cute, and can be used for a multitude of occasions. This sentiment, though, is my favorite one. :)

I paired it with some more Cosmo Cricket PP from their Mr. Campy line. I love how I was able to fit the two little hikers from the PP onto the corner of the card. I also love how it's a map, so it looks like she's trying to find her way to the camp site!

How cute is that little raccoon?!? I love him. All of the other animals in the set are cute, too, including a moose, bear, wolf, fox, and squirrel. The set also includes the tent (shown on the top of the card) and a tree. The accessory set includes ten cute sentiments and two signs to put them in, if you choose. Got to have them, don't you!?! ;)

This is Flopsey in her latest featured set, What's Your Story. Doesn't she look relaxed, just lying there in the grass with a good book!? Can you tell her tail is fuzzy? I added some flock to it. Cute, huh?

This is a mini set, so it has this image and five sentiments. Both card's images were colored with Copics. I used Cosmo Cricket's Honey Pie paper for this one. This layout was inspired by an old CPS sketch - CPS45.

Well, that's about it! Now for the deets on the release...

Life is How You Bake It!

Can you believe that this is my 500th post!?! Geesh, that's a lot of rambling! LOL

This is Chefabella meets Cosmo Cricket. Specifically Jack's World. I thought the paper looked something like a table cloth, and I like the color combination. I also love this Bella with this sentiment. Both are available at Stamping Bella, as well as the little charm.

The button is from Chatterbox (CHA swag) and ribbon is American Crafts. Miss Bella is colored with Copics, using PTI paper and Vivid ink. I used my Nesties to cut out the scallop rectangle.

This a close-up of the charm. Cute, huh?!

Oh, the problem with my blog coming up was d/t Sitemeter. I deleted it from my sidebar, and problem solved! Easy peasy!

Now, don't forget that MFTeasers start tomorrow for the release on Wednesday, so stay tuned! ;)

Saturday Sketch Challenge Numero Uno

Good morning! I am having difficulties with viewing my blog today, but hopefully it'll be all worked out soon!

This is the card that I made for Lauren's Saturday Sketch Challenge. I LOVED her sketch (as stated in previous post), but I made my image too big. So, I had to veer from my original plan a bit, in order for all of the pieces to fit on the card. Here's her sketch...

This is a Chichiboulie that I got from Miss Emily HERE, and I just love her! Her name is Wendy Papillon. I've had about four of these little fairies for probably a month and a half, and haven't played with them yet! That's why I was so determined to make this work! LOL

As you can see, I pierced the upper and lower rectangles, instead of using paper. I tried to use it, but it looked too cluttered. I like the way the butterflies sort of fill that void, though. They were punched with my MSL punch. The image was colored with Copics, and the wings were covered in Diamond Stickles. The ribbon is American Crafts, and the sentiment is also from Stamping Bella.

This is a close-up of the wings. You can see that the top one is cut out and elevated for some dimension.

Make sure that you check out the other SSC (Saturday Sketch Challenge) girls, too. Here are their blogs...

Now I'm off for the day! Hope to "see" you tomorrow for Bella card! THEN, the MFTeasers start on Monday! ;)

You're a Hoot

I bought this PTI set right when it came out, but I haven't had a chance to play with it till recently. I can say that I honestly like it MORE now that I've played with it! I had so much fun playing with all of the little pieces to customize my little owl, and I love how the sets work together!

Anywho, I stamped my owl to sit on the branch from Out on a Limb. He is colored with Copics and the leaves are stamped in Versamagic chalk ink.

The paper is some more from the newest Cosmo Cricket release that I got in CHA. This one is called Mr. Campy. It's really darling. Works great with images like this one.

The layout was inspired by a magazine. They are the best (for me) for getting inspiration. It could be an ad or scrapbook page that I'll change and adapt for card making, and then I'll jot it down in my sketch book for later. This is one of those sketches.

Well, that's about it for today!

Tomorrow, I'll have a sketch from Lauren to show you. Her sketches rock, and as soon as she asked for volunteers for her Saturday Sketch Challenge, I signed up! I wanted to have a reason to play with them! LOL I always star them in my GReader, but then rarely use them 'cause I always feel like if I'm doing DT stuff (which I usually am) that I should be using my own sketches! Is that weird? Well, either way, I'm excited to play with it this afternoon. It's another great one! :)
