Update...

Greetings from Kentucky! Dave decided to drive up to our old stomping ground in Ohio to see about some job opportunities, and I told him that Wyatt and I were going to hitch a ride up to KY to see my sister, Jan. So here we are!

So much is going on in my head right now, as I type this. It looks like relocation up north (OH) is imminent, and I'm pretty much freaking out. We have such a great thing in Florida - with the exception of no job for my DH. But we have to go where the work is, and it sounds like there's a great opportunity for him up here, well, both of us actually.

I don't want to be too specific, because nothing's for certain, and there's still SO many details that need working out, but I'm REELING from it all, and I just felt the need to come and air it out here! LOL

No, I don't have anything to show you, as things have been so crazy, but as soon as I do, y'all will be the first ones to know! :) That also means that I don't have a card for this week's SSC. :( Sorry - I hate to miss this one, but I'll make it up as soon as I'm able.

Well, I guess that's about it. I hope that everyone's having a good Friday the 13th! :) Till later...

Life is the Berries

Morning All! I've got a giftie to show you today. This is one of my homemade strawberry jam jars that I made back in November. It turned out oh-so-yummy, I must say. Well, anyways, when I first saw this set from Lizzie Anne, I knew I had to make a cutie tag for one of my jars!

The set is called Tutti Fruiti. The fabric is a remnant I had from my stash. Ribbon is from PTI. The button is from Creative Cafe, and I used Nesties for the circle.

Well, that's about it! I have to go give my guys a kiss before the run out the door to go fishing! Till later!

Get Well Soon, Ellie!

This is one of the new MFT sets that were released last week, Night Night Ellie. Ain't she cute!? I paired her up with one of my newer PTI sets and Lauren's SSC #22.

The color combo is Lemon Tart, Melon Berry, and Raspberry Fizz. I used my Cuttlebug on the yellow layer and Copics for the image. I drew in the little dots on her jammie shirt with my white gel pen.

The ribbon is from Doodlebug (I think), and buttons are from Basic Grey. I also used a Bella Dot on the flower center.

Now I'm off to get ready for work! Have a good Monday, and I'll be back soon!

Time for a Saturday Sketch!

Wow, I've been in total crafting mode lately. I've officially emerged from my slump and I'm finding the best of both worlds - involving Wyatt in my crafting time! It's been awesome!

Today, I finished a superhero quilt top that I started last night (it wasn't that difficult of a pattern), and I'm just waiting on one of my BFFs to go up to the quilt store with me to find some backing to finish it up! Wyatt can't wait! He LOVES superheros (this one has Batman and Spiderman in it), and I can hardly keep his hands off of it long enough to sew it! LOL That makes me happy! :)

Yesterday, I also made a cute "Nappy Bag" - pattern and fabric by Amy Butler. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I also just happened to finish this card! I kept it basic, but I really just like how it turned out. Largely because of Lauren's uber cool sketch. Check it out!

I used Lizzie Anne's School Days set and PTI's paper. Ribbon is from SU! and the button is from Creative Cafe.

Here's the rest of the sketch team, so you can check out their take on the sketch...

Any Way You Slice It...

This is a card that I made with the newer LAD set, Tutti Fruiti. I thought that it was obvious what the image was, UNTIL I showed the card to the Hubster, and he said "Oh, cute pie." I sighed and said, "It's a slice of orange, Dear.", and got the eloquent response of "Oh."

Well, I like the card anyways! LOL I used citrus-y PTI colors - Summer Sunrise, Lemon Tart, and Spring Moss. I used my Scor-Pal for the inner border and my Fiscars punch on top. The rest is pretty clean and simple. Here's a close up of the image...

And now I'm off! I will do my best to have a SSC ard for you tomorrow, so check back in! TGIF!

You Rock My World

Okay, I know that I said that I had a MFT card to show you today, but I never got a chance to take the pic, and this one's all edited and ready to go! :) This was made with a new LAD set, School Days. Inside the over sized mug is an apple stress ball, an apple pen, and lots of yummy chocolate truffles.

Here's a close-up of the tag. I sponged the edges of the white with Antique Linen ink. The "A+++" was stamped with white craft and I used the MSL punch for the apple. I also used PTI and SU! ribbon with a Creative Cafe button.
This was a nice quick and easy project that would be easily duplicatable, and I like how it turned out. :)
Now I'm off! Have a good one, and I'll be back soon with another project!

Welcome to the MFT Blog Hop! Tonight is release night, and believe me, you're going to LOVE all of the new sets! If you're coming in on the hop in the middle, make sure you start with Kim, so you don't miss anything!

This set is called, Hooga Booga, and I had SO much fun with this card! I love the grass, flowers, and clouds about as much as I love the monsters! But I also had loads of fun with my Shimmerz! I painted it on everything! Here's a close-up...

I hope that you like it! To continue along with the hop, check out my girl, Ana! She's my BBFF or Blogging BFF :), and I know that you love her too!
I've got another MFT card for you tomorrow, so check back in then! Till later...

MFTeaser: Tea with Flopsey

This card was made with MFT's new March Flopsey (to be released Wednesday!). I also used the flowers from the new Hooga Booga set - did I mention that I love that one?! I'll show a card with that set tomorrow.

Anywho, I used the BG Urban Prairie PP and the cutie MSL bird punch. Ribbon is from PTI, and I colored the image with Copics. Here's a close-up of the birdie...

The sentiment says "A cup of tea, a shady tree. Wish you could keep me company." Cute, huh?!
Well, that's about it! Till tomorrow!

MFTeaser: Monsters Ink

This is a Teaser that I created with the new MFT Monsters Ink (get it?! :)) set and SC215 on SCS. In case you didn't see it, Roxi used my card for the sketch, so I HAD to play along with the challenge! I made this card a while ago, but could only post it today. I hope you like it! I had SO much fun stamping my little "scene"! I'm in LOVE with these monsters!

The flowers, hearts and clouds are part of another new MFT set, Hooga Booga (I LOVE this one, too!). I'll show you that card on Wednesday, I think. ;) The grass was made with two different colors of green Flower Soft. I really like playing with that stuff - I just usually forget that I have it! LOL The purse and bow tie are elevated and adorned with Twinkle Stickers. The image was colored with Copics.

These sets will be released on Wednesday. Here's the deets...

Saturday Sketch Time!

This is my card for this week's SSC! I decided to treat myself for all of my recent hardwork and get a couple of PTI sets, and I thought that there was no time like the present to use them! You can find Lauren's sketch on her blog, here.

I used the new Background Basics: Retro, newer Forest Friends, and not-so-new Polka Dot Basics. The color combo is Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy, Black, and New Leaf. The punches are Marvy, and the scallop punch is Fiscars. Ribbon is Creative Imaginations.

Now I'm off to try and get some more fun stuff done before Naptime is over! Check out the rest of the sketch team at the following links...

Getting There is Half the Fun!

This is another card that I made while playing around with my Things that Go stamp set, from Lizzie Anne. I used some older Scenic Route paper, and my new Kiwi Kiss CS! Yes, I am only just now using last year's SU! In Colors! LOL

I also used some SU! ribbon, a MM clip, and a MSL punch. The bus was colored with Copics, of course!

I'm going to cut this post short, 'cause I'm just starting an episode of CSI with my hubby! Have a good night! :)

Zooming Along as Fast as I Can...

This card was given to a super special little girl, for her third birthday, this weekend. It was made with LAD stamps, In the Background and Things that Go. I doodled the pink car with olive flowers and Cuttlebugged the background.

Quick post for today, as I'm off for work, but have a good one, and I'll TTYL! :)

Next Time, You're the Pool Boy, and...

I must say that this is one of my favorite cards that I made in the past couple of days. I used MFT's Maid for You and PTI's Grid Lines. I LOVE the color combo, and the fact that "she" is the only part of the image that's in color. The rest is "black and white".

Here's the deets... I used PTI's ribbon and paper (except SU!'s Basic Black - still have a ton of that). I also used Nesties, Copics, a Twinkle Sticker, and a bridal flower from Michaels that I colored black.

The inside of the card reads "and I'm the wealthy divorcee. Wink, Wink" I love that. I showed it to my hubby - 'cause I always show him all of my cards and can't wait to "surprise" him with one. Then I was bad, and said "now, I just have to figure out who to send it to..." (evil grin here) Well, oddly enough, he didn't like that. I laughed, and he poked me. I think I'm funny - you know, it's all good...

Well, that night he had a dream that I had cheated on him and he was irrationally angry with me! He blamed it on the card. Silly Hubster. ;) He's over it now, but we (really "I") got a nice laugh out of it. Dang, I love that man!

Well, have a good Monday, and I'll be back soon with some more LAD!

Till later...

Saturday Sketch Time, Baby!

Good Morning! I was finally able to get some stamping done yesterday, and I must say that it felt good! :) This is one of four cards that I got done. AND...I actually got some quilting done, as well! LOL I was having a little craft-fest!!

I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who emailed and left comments regarding my last post! We're doing good. It's depressing, but I know that things will turn around eventually. I also know that many of you are in the same boat. My prayers are with you as well. We're not starving, and we're lucky that I have a job that's so flexible. I was even able to sign a bonus contract for "Season". It's just an adjustment, and I hate not knowing what's next, as far as Dave and the possibility of relocation goes. But I firmly believe that whatever will happen is meant to happen. Sigh...I guess it's a lesson in patience. :)

Anywho, this card is for Lauren's SSC24 that was posted last week. This week is a pick-your-favorite week, so you can choose any of her past sketches to play along. Since I've been out of the game for pretty much the last month and a half, I have several to pick from that I haven't even done yet. I hope to catch up soon.

I used LAD's Things That Go for this (and two others) card. I popped up the plane and used white gel pen for the windows. There's also clear Spica on the cloud and sun. The sentiment is from LAD's High Hellos - one of my fave LAD sets!

So, that's it! For more sketchy inspiration, click through these links...

In Case You've Been Wondering...

I've gotten several emails from my "cyber friends", asking if there's anything wrong and letting me know that I'm missed, and I've got to tell you that I'm quite grateful for those emails and comments. Thank you so much for your sweet words!

The deal is that Dave has, in effect, lost his job...again. Well, it's not so much as lost as, on a hold. You may know that my husband is in construction, and the job that he's had for the past year and change has stalled. With no one spending any money on building houses, or anything else, he hasn't been paid since mid-December. He's been looking for other opportunities, but in his field, and especially in Florida, it's hard to stay positive in this economy.

Therefore, I've been working a lot more and spending my limited free time with my little guy, Wyatt. It's been hard to focus on anything else. Due to that, I asked my MFT boss-lady, Kim, if I could take a few weeks off, which is why you haven't seen me in the Hops or posting samples with the cool new releases lately.

That being said, I'm REALLY hoping to get my mojo up and flowing very soon. First step is to clean up my craft studio, so that I can be creative in there. Heaven knows that I've got oodles of fun stamps to play with. But I know that if I go in there, I might not come back out! Which then would turn up the guilt factor of not spending that time with my son... Alas, it's a vicious cycle! LOL

However, I will get it worked out. My goal is to get some stuff done this weekend, but I'm not going to promise, because for SURE it won't happen then! LOL I hope you understand.

Till later...

Saturday Sketch and a Tattoo!

For some reason, I struggled a bit with this sketch of Lauren's, but overall, I'm happy with the card. I used Lizzie Anne's Love Tattoo for the main image, and I've got to say that I'm loving it even more, now that I'm seeing it in COLOR! I think it's uber cool looking - what do you think?

I used BG's Ambrosia PP again - can you tell it's one of my new faves?! I love the cool colors in it. I can always tell how much I love a PP line when I don't want to put away the matching Copics! LOL (Same is true with Urban Prairie :)). Buttons are BG, too.

Ribbon is SU! and Marvy punches were used for the circles. I used my Scor-Pal for the score lines - in lieu of another piece of CS. I just couldn't get that to work, and I think this image works better with more white space.

So, I guess that's about it! Give some love to the other sketch girls at these links...

Saturday Sketch and New LAD!

I must say that I'm really happy with how this card turned out. I used Lauren's sketch (found here) and combined Lizzie Anne's So Much Love with this Basic Grey (Urban Prairie) PP. I think this might be Dave's Valentine's Day card - we'll have to see...

I colored the birdies with Copics and punched the hearts with my Marvy Mega punch. The main image heart is that linen vellum that PTI carries, so it's a little transparent.

I hope that you like it! Make sure that you check out the other girls at these links...

One Too Many Teacups!

I had to giggle after I uploaded this when I noticed that that the sentiment says "two teacups", and I stamped this stack of three - oh well! LOL I still like the card! :)

This is another card that I made with the new LAD set that is BEING RELEASED TODAY, Tea Time. I just masked the cutie little cups and colored them with my Copics.

All paper is from PTI, and the flower is from CTMH. The button is from Basic Grey and the scallop circle was made with the Marvy Giga punch.

Now, make sure that you run on over to the Lizzie Anne website to check out all of the new sets! I think that I have almost all of them, and I know you'll NEED them too! ;)

TTYL!

Lizzie Anne Sneak Peek: So Much Love

This is a little set that I had fun making the other day, using the FS challenge for this week (JulieHRR) for the card, and altering this little playing card set. The new LAD set (to be released this Friday) is called So Much Love, and it's now one of my favorite V-Day sets - it's SO cute!

I was going to add something else to this card, but everything I tried took away from the clean-ness of it, so I left it alone. It's nice to do a CAS (clean and simple) card once in a while! Here's Julie's card that I CASEd.

I took these pix at night, and even though I have a light box, I still really need the natural light to get really nice pictures. Oh well...
Here's the playing card box. I covered it in some Bazzill paper and black velvet ribbon, and froo-frooed up the top. The flower punch is from EK, and the Dots are from Stamping Bella.

And here's the open box. Hope you likey! Tomorrow, I have another Tea Time card. It will also be release day, so don't forget to check out all of the cutie new sets!
Till then...
