Across the Miles

I am constantly in search of ways to NOT forget to put a card in the mail for my friends and family's birthdays. I rarely succeed in my endeavors. So, when I saw this "naked" address book/perpetual calendar from Pinecone Press in the LSS, I snatched it into my cart!

I altered it with some PP from American Crafts and Jillibean Soup (I just discovered this line, and I picked up a ton of it! Way cute!). The image is from PTI's new release, Everyday Button Bits. I love this set, and I love how the button colors match the trees in the PP! The bird is a MSL punch, and I'm not sure where the ribbon came from. I used my Nesties for the main image.

The book came with the spiral separate, so it made it very easy to alter. I first painted the edges with white paint. Then I covered the front and back with PP and the insides with coordinating CS. I painted the edges again, and Mod Podged the whole thing (minus the buttons).

This is the inside of the address part. I'm looking forward (sort of ;)) to getting all of my addresses all organized, and in one place! It's on my to-do list. :)

And lastly, here's the back that I stamped with the PTI's Birds of a Feather stamp set. I really like that little birdy.
I made another one of these for a friend, but I'll have to wait to show you that one. I really like how it turned out, too. :)
And now I'm off! I've got a living room to clean up, and a husband to talk to! Have a good evening!

Same Card, Different Picture

Check out this photo editing! This is a picture of a card that I posted last week, but after reading Amy's tutorial, I re-edited it to practice some of her cool tips on Adobe Photoshop. I like the results! (Note - I didn't retake the picture all together, just re-edited it.)

You can find her HTDT tutorial HERE.

Wyatt's Newly Finished Super Hero Quilt!

Here is a couple of pix of the new super hero quilt that I made for MY little Superman, Wyatt. A wonderful friend gave me a bundle of Batman and Spiderman fabrics, and this is what I did with them. Wyatt absolutely adores any character that "fights bad guys", so these fabrics were right up his alley.

If you're at all familiar with quilting, then you've heard of the Yellow Brick Road pattern. It's a beginner pattern that I've used several times for different quilts over the years. This is a variation of that pattern. I was a bit hasty when cutting out the pieces and strips, so I had to make a few "design decisions" and alter the pattern a bit. This is what I came up with. LOL After all, my little recipient didn't mind a bit! :)

I used a plastic template and a pounce for the quilting pattern to make these stars/swirls all over. I also got to use my new Juki quilting machine, and I'm in love with all the bells and whistles! I got some much needed machine quilting practice, as well, and towards the end of the quilt, I started to feel much more comfortable with it. I'm looking forward to quilting my next quilt! All I need to do is find my acrylic rulers and batting to get started! LOL They're in a box in our storage room somewhere.
I was hoping that the quilting would show up better in this pic, but I'm sure if you click to enlarge, and if you so choose, you can get a better look.
And now I'm off! Thanks to Blogger, I just rewrote this post 3x, and I've got a roaring headache!
Till later!

Let's Make-Up

This is a new set, by Amanda Baird for MFT, called Puttin' on the Glitz. I paper pieced her, as you can see, and colored the rest with Copics. There is Stardust pen on the jewelry, but it doesn't show up much in this pic.

The PP is from MFT, and you can find it here. I also used a button from MFT, and ribbon from PTI. The flower was colored with Copics, as well, and is a Michael's bridal flower. The edge was punched with a Fiscars border punch. The tag was punched with an SU Key Tag punch.

Now, I'm off for church. Have a wonderful weekend!

Spread a Harvest of Hope

I've actually gotten some crafting time lately! Wohoo! In the past two days, I've made two cards, and finished quilting Wyatt's superhero quilt! I just need to add on the binding! I'll have to sew that on after all the little ones are up, though. I love my new machine, but quiet it's not! LOL

Here's one of the cards that I made. This is a new image from Annie Lapoint that was released from MFT this past Weds. I've colored with Copics, and added some MFT buttons, and Primas. The PP is also MFT and the ribbon is PTI. This is a 5 1/4 square card.

And now I'm off! Have a wonderful morning. It's a bit overcast here, but I'm hoping that will burn off and the sun will come out! Till later!

Catching Some Rays

Here's a couple of cards that I made with the new MFT Catching Some Rays stamp set that was released last week. For both, I used Copics to color. On the above card, I used K&Company PP and the below card I used MFT's Summer Collection paper pack.

For the smaller elements on this card, I used By the Seashore and Hooga Booga. Both are MFT sets, found HERE. Make sure you check out the new sets that were released last night on the website!
Till later...

Mid-Month Hop!

This cute little number is my sample for the mid-month MFT blog hop. I hope that you like it! If you don't know what I'm talking about, you'll want to check out the Hop from the beginning at THIS link.

The three sets that are being released TONIGHT are available NOW, and you can find them HERE. This set is called Feelin' Fruity. Ain't it cute! The other new sets include a new Annie LaPoint set (Harvest of Hope) and Bubble Bunny (a Flopsey set that is TOO cute!).

I used some K&Company paper (I realize that I've been using the heck out of this PP, but I really like it, AND it's WAY summery! Don't worry - it'll end sooner or later! LOL) along with my Nesties. Below you can see that I added some Crystal Effects to the cherries to make them shiny like the PP. The tiny button is available through MFT at THIS link.

To continue on with the Hop, and come on, you know you do! :) Click on THIS LAST LINK to check out what Susie has for you. I'm sure you'll love it!

And now I'm off to keep stamping! Oh yeah, and the First 50 Momento Dew Drop color this week is Bamboo Leaves! Don't miss it!

Bark Worthy Bites!

Today is release day! MFT is releasing 4 sets tonight, after the release party! This is Puppy Chow, and will be only $9! I thought that I would make a cute little giftie with it and one of these Prima paint cans.

I "borrowed" some of Michelle's puppy treats for this project - Shhhh ;)

How do you like that pretty gingham ribbon?? I love it! Super soft and easy to tie. It's somewhat new, and you can find it HERE.

Here's a close-up of the little puppy. I used Stickles and a rhinestone to create a collar for her. She's colored with Copics. The top is adorned with MFT buttons and another little puppy, like the middle picture. I DID have a close-up of that, but I accidentally deleted it. :( Oh well, you get the drift! :) I thought that the can turned out pretty cute - hope you do too!

Well I gotta run! If you didn't see last night's Blog Hop, make sure you scroll down to see the kitty version of this set! It's just as cute!! Hope to see you tonight at the release party! Till then...
