Sow Seeds of Love

This is a little address book that I altered for a good friend. She picked up a book like I did (as seen in this post) from our LSS, from Pinecone Press, after seeing the one that I got. I told her if she bought it, I'd alter it! Which brings us to now! It's also a perpetual calendar.

I used MFT's brand spankin' new set (to be released on Wednesday!!), Sow Seeds of Love, from Annie LaPoint. The PP is from Kaiser Craft - I really love the colors in this line. Ribbon is from SU! and the button is from Basic Gray. The edges of the book were painted with white acrylic paint before I Mod Podged the whole thing.

I used Copics to color the image, then added a little Stardust pen to "jazz" it up! I also added some circles around the left circle with a Copic to mimic the PP.

The inside of the book...

And the back... The stamp says "Freshly made just for you", my name, and then "MFT Stamps."
More deets on the release will be provided very soon! Gotta jet! Till later...

You RULE!

This is the other card that I made with the new MFT Grow Love, Plant a Tree set that was released this month. I love those little trees! I also love the tiny images that you can use with the little trees, like this apple! And when I see an apple, I always think teacher, hense this card...

This card also qualifies for this week's My Favorite Challenge (13), posted weekly by two of my favorite people, Joanne and Christina. You can find the challenges here.

I used some new Cosmo Cricket PP. And yes, I went a little overboard on the distressing of the main image, but what can I say!

I love that little swing!
And now I'm off! Have a good one, and I'll be back soon!

Hoot of a Birthday

My nephew had a birthday recently, and I thought that I'd use the Wise Owl set, from PTI, for his card. I also used Lauren Meader's last sketch, found here. The PP is BG's Lime Rickey, and the white is MFT's Perfect Paper Panels.

I used some SU! ribbon, and a PTI button. Oh, and there's a Twinkle Sticker in the flower center.

Now I have to run. I start orientation for school tomorrow, and I've got to get ready! I'll be working 5 hrs as a nurse, and 2 hrs as a teacher (health class for coed 8th graders!). Two brand new jobs, yikes! ;) I need to get my scrubs all out of storage, and cleaned up, and buy two dresses. I'm also making lesson plans, and getting ready to clean out my new office, and make it all organized. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

I guess that's a good thing!

Wyatt, on the other hand, is all set now. We went and got his uniforms yesterday, and we got the total hook-up for his pants. (yay!) Those things aren't cheap! He's now playing soccer twice a week (OMGosh how cute!), and in a week he starts Kindergarten. Not sure how I feel about that, but I'm happy that I'll be there with him. :)

Okay, enough blather about me. Have a great week, and I'll have an MFT card for you soon! Till later...

My Favorite Bookworm

This is a quick post for a card that I made with one of the new MFT sets, I {heart} Books. I paper pieced some of the image and colored the rest. The flower is a Prima, and the button is PTI. Ribbon is from May Arts.

I used my Fiscars Threading Water punch, and my paper piercing pack to make the little arrow.
Now I gotta jet! Hope you like it! Be back soon!

Mother Button, Son of a Basket Challenge

And how's THAT for a title!? LOL We had so much stinking fun at CHA. I LOVE those girls, and even though we only see each other once a year, it feels, when I'm with them, that we've known each other forever!

Well, while we were wondering around the show floor, we hit the PTI booth, well, let's just say, more than once. We kept enabling eachother and talking eachother out of certain sets, and this was one of the ones that I lost the inner battle on. Since we spent so much money, but yet, didn't have all that we wanted (who could?!), the sets (such as Dawn's beautiful Damask set) started to become a sort of curse word! Not because we didn't like it, but because we didn't WANT to like it! Get it??

Well, that only grew from there, as it normally does, and then we started to think up MORE "fake" curse words that sounded more papercrafty, than vulgar! LOL Hence this title.

Now onto the card. As I mentioned, I didn't buy this set till the last second because I kept telling myself that I didn't NEED it, but after a couple of the girls decided to do a challenge with said set, Joanne and I found ourselves back in the booth with this set in our hands so that we could play along. {Sigh.}

This is Vintage Picnic, and I also used Polka Dot Basics. My PP is Little Yellow Bicycle. I love the colors, especially with the Craft. The ribbon is PTI, as is the linen thread. Flower is Heidi Swapp, and the button is MFT.

The two letters in front are cut out of another piece of paper, making them dimensional, and of course, the basket is paper pieced.

So, now that you've seen mine, make sure that you go and check out theirs! ;) The girls (SUPERSTARS, really) playing along are Joanne, Carole, Christina, Amy, and Leigh. I KNOW that you'll love whatever they've cooked up, so don't miss them!!

Now I'm off! Be back soon with some MFT!

Feed Me!!

I have had this recipe box for Lord knows how long! I bought it down in Florida at a scrapbook shop. I think it was made by Bare Elements, but I could be totally wrong. I covered it in PP before we moved, and only just finished it recently. Sadly, I couldn't even tell you who makes the PP. BUT, I CAN tell you that My Favorite Things makes all the stamped images on the top!

I used the Bling 'Bet alphabet and Who's that Grillin' Guy. The extra images on the top are bits and pieces from the PP sticker sheet. Below shows the main image. The hamburgers are elevated and the picture is colored with Copics.

I cut out the letters after stamping them, and added some orange Stickles to the dots.
Below is the inside (duh). I painted the tabs with red acrylic paint, and then I used PTI's Simple Alphabet for the words. I covered the dividers in some older SU! PP.

The whole box is covered in Mod Podge to make it waterproof. Button is from MFT and I used a Bella Dot on the other flower.

Velvet ric rac is from Creative Cafe.
Well, that's about it! Gotta run, so that I can go pick up some dinner! Till later...

Right at Home

So, I've been feeling very stampy lately, and in the past three days I've made 10 cards!! This is one of them. I used the SC240 for the layout. I really like how the card turned out. I'm kind of on a purple kick, so this card makes me happy. :) I made it for our wonderful friends, Sean and Michelle, for their generous hospitality while we're "in between homes"! Michelle is also a purple fan, so I think that she'll like this.

I used PTI's Boards and Beams because that's just the perfect set for this occasion, AND because I'm trying to ink up all of my not-yet-used stamp sets! You know, a use-what-you-got kind of deal. :) The PP is from Kaiser Craft, and I used Copics (do I even need to say that with each post??) to color. Ribbon and buttons are PTI.I think the reason I haven't inked this set up yet is because I thought the coloring would be tedious, but really it wasn't! I had fun with it! So easy to customize - oh yeah, and I paper pieced the windows so it looks like the wallpaper in the room. In hindsight, you'd probably need binoculars to see the wallpaper in all 5 rooms from the street, but I still think it's cute! ;)

And now I'm off to go post this on SCS. TTYS!

MFTeaser: Grow Love, Plant a Tree

I have one more teaser for you! This is a card that I made with one of the 4 MFT releases that will be available TONIGHT at 10pm EST. This set is called Grow Love, Plant a Tree. I really loved playing with these tress! I made another card with this set, but I'll show that one later.

This PP is some new stuff (at least to me) from Cosmo Cricket. I paper pieced the tree leaves part, stamped the hearts, and Copic-ed the rest! The heart is from a Marvy punch, the ribbon is from SU, and so are the punches for the sentiment. The small clear heart is from Heidi Swapp, and the Bella dot is from, well, the Bella! :)

The release party will be TONIGHT from 8-10pm EST on the MFT member company forum. Don't forget to stop by and say "hi!". Here's some more info on the release... (I shamefully copied it from Kim's blog, so as not to forget anything...shh... ;))

This is Ruby Rock It PP, called Kindred Spirit. I picked it up at CHA, cause I loved the colors. I colored Flopsey green with Copics, and then covered him in white Fun Flock. The chair is patterned pieced. The ribbon is PTI, the flower is Heidi Swapp (found on the MFT site), and the button is from MFT.
Hope you like it! Now, to keep "hopping" on, click HERE to check out Susie's blog! She always has something beautimous!

MFTeaser: Trick or Treat with Who's That Girl

This is officially my first Halloween card of the year! I used the new MFT Who's That Girl set, Trick or Treat. I paper pieced most of it, and colored the rest with Copics. This PP isn't really Halloween themed, but I really liked the colors for it, so I used it. It is MME's Andrea Victoria line - very pretty paper!

For some other details, I added some Liquid Applique to Flopsey's tail and used the end of my paint brush to make some polka dots with some glitter paint that they were giving away at CHA. It's a little like Stickles, but a bit more opaque and thick. It's also dimensional. I don't know who makes the ribbon.
Make sure that you check back in tonight, because it's the MFT Blog Hop at 10pm EST and the sets go LIVE tomorrow at 10pm EST!! Till later...

Some CHA Pix!!

Like last year, I had such a blast at CHA. Met up with some "older" and some brand new friends. I truly love so many of these girls!! Didn't get as many pix as I would have liked, but here are some good ones, and they're in no particular order... (Sorry for the lack of links - too many for me to do this morning, but I'll try to add them in later.)

From left to right - this is Amy Rohl, Leigh O'Brien, Brianna Smith (Kim's daughter), Alma de la Rosa, and Carole Burrage. We were eating at Tommy Bahamas for dinner. This is just a small part of the whole crew.

This is the PTI booth, with Heather Nichols and Debbie Olson discussing a make & take. This is Shannon Erskine and her mom (e3stamper and n5stamper) with me, posing for a pic. Both were so sweet - I'm so glad Shannon said "hi!"; it was good to meet them both.

Me, Joanne Basile, and Julie Masse posing after dinner. (Jo - I love ya, and will owe ya forever!) ;)

This is Kim showing Jody Morrow some love in the cab. :) On the left is Kathy Daume.

Some MFT girls in the booth on Friday morning - Kim van der Sanden (Boss Lady), Deb Anton (MFT jewelry designer), me, and Christy Beckwith (our illustrator).

A larger group of us on Friday - Jennifer Buck, Sherry Campbell, Jimmi Mayo, me, Maren Benedict (SO sweet!), Carole Burage (doesn't she look JUST like her picture online?? ;)), Joanne Basile, and Christina Fisher (HILARIOUS - LOVED her!!).

And lastly, the Lizzie Anne girls! SO glad to have finally met them!! Tricia is on the left and Meridith is on the right.
